Visited Al Ponte di Borgo on the back of the local recommendation on this site. Had intended to head over to the Black Cat on Murano, where I have eaten before, but late running meant I had to alter plans.
The trattoria is located in Malamocco, a town at the south end of the Lido. If arriving by vaporetto from the city take either bus A, B or 11 from outside the waterbus stop and the journey takes about 15 minutes.
The trattoria is located on the street that runs down the side of the church - look along the street for the seats outside.
Malamocco was deserted on my arrival and, with it being after 2pm on a Sunday I was concerned that I had missed the chance for lunch. However I needn't have worried as this trattoria is open from 9am to 6pm on Sundays and Public Holidays.
I chose the squid with celery and the butterbeans and onions for my main course and an ice cream for desert. A large bag of bread twists was supplied for the table and with two glasses of house white the bill came to €17, however it should be noted that credit cards are not accepted.
The food was absolutely delicious and the healthiest meal I had eaten since arriving in Italy! The staff were pleasant and helpful, although you may need to fight for their attention a bit when the place is busy as the rest of the clientele are obviously well-known.
The outside toilets are also a bit chilly in the winter!
I think it probably helps to be able to speak a bit of Italian if visiting this eatery as it is well away from the tourist areas.
All in all an enjoyable afternoon was spent here and I felt like a local by the time I left!
