“Book lover's paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013 via mobile

This was a great little bookshop...took a little to find the place, but wandering was worth it! I try to find places like this in a lot of the cities that I visit and this is definitely one of my favorites to date! PS the book stairs (looking a bit moldy, but still cool) are outside and give you a good view of the canal :)

“Unusual”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

The Guardian recommended this the weekend before our visit to Venice as being a great place to visit with children (mine are 12&10). It was very quirky and contained more books than a lot of libraries, piled up floor to ceiling (slightly overwhelming) in a warren of rooms and in gondalas in the middle of rooms. There was a fab staircase made of books in the back courtyard which you can climb in order to see over the wall to a small cute canal. It’s all a lot of fun, but there are very few books in English and it would only hold a kid's interest for about 10-15 mins. Worth a quick visit if you're in the area though and there's a paper maiche shop next door, with an artisan working in the window (creating a mask when we were there).

It really is the most beautiful bookstore in the world! It's definitely worth a visit! I recommend everyone to visit it

“Odd bookstore makes interesting detour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

Odd but interesting bookstore with piles of books everywhere. Walk up piles of books to look over the rear canal.

Worth a quick detour.

“Musty, but interesting for bookworms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

This store is a bit out of the way and the book prices are surprisingly high, but if you like the idea of rummaging through disorganized piles of books, then you'll love the place. There is everything from novels to cookbooks, to kids comics, to vintage and 3D porn, so be careful with kids. The owner Luigi is very nice. The views are nothing special, but the book staircase in the garden is interesting. I just kept thinking about all the mold that must be present in the books that are so exposed to moisture. There were no cats to be found on the sunny afternoon we went.
