“Beautiful beyond words!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

My only regret is not staying long enough. We were impressed by Palazzetto Pisani itself and even more with it's staff, especially Chiara from the front desk. The place was beautiful beyond words! If you truly want to enjoy Venice, do it the authentic way and stay at this palace. We would like to thank Chiara for giving us a tour of the palace and taking her time in giving us a little history of this place. At Palazzetto Pisani, you get excellent customer service and more. We will be back in Venice and we will stay here again. Highly recommended. Prosecco at night a must! Most romantic hotel we stayed at during our trip.

This was our first trip to Venice and, to be honest, my expectations were somewhat low based upon all I had heard through the years (dirty, crowded, expensive). While it's true about being full of people (in large part tourists) and expensive (but not exceedingly so when compared to other tourist destinations), the city was actually quite clean and way beyond charming.
We had booked one of the annex apartments but due to an opening we (2 couples) were upgraded to the Suite Pisani on the bottom floor of the main building overlooking the Grand Canal, we simply couldn't believe our luck. The room (actually 2 separate bedrooms with a shared bathroom) is impeccably decorated with period furniture, a large bathroom with quality products, and an incredible view overlooking the passing boats along the canal.
Our king-size bed was quite comfortable. The other bedroom, contained a fireplace and TV and consisted of 2 twin beds which, I guess, could be put together to create a shared king. Each room had 2 small balconies with pads for outside seating to provide an even nicer view or the outside show.
The hotel's upstairs living/meeting area was nicely relaxing, with even better, unobstructed views. Breakfast consisted of a delicious mix of fresh-squeezed blood orange juice and other juices, cheese-stuffed pastries, fresh bread, cold cuts, homemade jams and honey, and omelets made to order. The breakfast room is fancy, but not stuffy.
Entering the hotel via water taxi was a unique experience, having to walk a foot-wide plank from the boat into the hotel. No need to worry, staff is on hand to assist guests and with the luggage.
All staff that we encountered spoke English fluently and entirely pleasant to deal with.
The hotel is adjacent to the Music Conservatory and is a short walk from to Academy Bridge in one direction and St. Mark's Square in the other (though the numerous shops, restaurants and sights may delay one's trip).
Highly recommend, a truly enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: From the airport we took an individual water taxi to the hotel (approx. 100 Euro). While certainly...

We had a romantic getaway for 2 here in May 2013 and it was wonderful. It is like going to a houseparty in a grand private house, it didn't feel like a hotel at all. The room was wonderful, as if staying in a national trust property in the uk. High painted ceiling and antiques, hidden bathroom behind the panelling! If you want atmosphere ask for the Doge suite like we had. It is on the same level as the lounge which looks over the canal, so it's easy to pop in there and enjoy the view then retreat to your room next door, which has quiet side windows. The breakfast room was wonderful, lots of tasty food and beautiful surroundings. Our waiter cooked us omelettes on the spot in the corner of the room. All the staff were very kind and helpful, I would definitely recommend couples to stay there for a lovely time.

Room Tip: We had the Doge suite, which does not have a canal view but is sumptuously furnished with old antiqu...

The Palazzetto is a lovely spot to stay in Venice. Great location. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great - don't miss freshly squeezed orange juice and perfect coffee. We stayed in the Benzon Suite which is located in the Annex of the hotel. It is very large, with well equipped kitchen, bathroom with washing machine and living areas. Clean and quiet. Only disappointment was that the canal views were confined to two large windows with shutters so you can't look up and down the canal unless you climb out onto the window sill. We also stayed one night in the ground floor suite of the main building. That is lovely with perfect views up and down the canal and a gorgeous little lounge area.. But it doesn't have cooking/washing facilities so we
preferred the Benzon suite. We would recommend the Palazzetto Pisani to anyone visiting Venice.

Venice strikes me as the type of place where people who never go anywhere in their life go for their one great splurge. Consequently, I've never seen a hotel market like this. I was most pleased with Palazzetto Pisani for value.

Pros:
-I made very sure we were booked at Palazzetto Pisani itself. It was fun to enjoy the ambiance in the morning and afternoon, in the grand and gilded old house overlooking the Grand Canal.
-We had the most modest (Green) room, but it still had a lovely bathroom with a good shower, sitting room, and windows on a side canal. Not noisy or musty.
-It was quite temperate in April, no mosquitoes.
-Chiara at reception and Mohammed at breakfast couldn't have been more lovely.
-Breakfast: fresh-squeezed blood orange, cappuccinos from a shiny machine, fresh omelets, ham, cheese, beautiful jams, cereal and pastries - if that doesn't work for you, I don't know what will.
-Location was very convenient to Academia bridge & stop, nice to be in San Marco but away from the throngs of tourists. Really the location is great, feels like a refuge in the thick of it.
-You could hear music from the conservatory.
-The nearby square has lovely lanes (restaurants, little food shop, lovely church, amazing art glass and art nouveau shops, kids playing football in the square).
-If you can afford the rooms on the Grand Canal, they are off the hook.
-The free internet worked in our room.

Cons:
-I just can't give five stars to a double bed made of two single beds pushed together with Ikea covers. For $200/night, PP can afford a queen mattress!
-There was a day or two when our room wasn't cleaned, most surprising when our towels were pulled out of the hamper and placed back on the rack. But most days it was cleaned well. (We were there a week.)

On balance, we were very happy.

Room Tip: Value for money, which included the ambiance of the Palazzetto Pisani's common rooms and gorgeou...

We arrived at this Hotel only to be told that our room would not be ready for a few hours, being excited about being in Venice I let this slide, but then after an additional hour & an a half I was annoyed. They were doing renovations! Who renovates a room when a guest is arriving? The staff were rude & not helpful at all but made it sound as if I was impatient, this is not a cheap hotel & as a paying guest I am entitled to my full service.
The room itself was the servants quarters out the back I had actually phone two weeks previously after reading a bad review on Trip Advisor to check we were in the main house, only to be lied to that yes this was all part of the beautiful old Palace!
The servants quarters are fine but very average not worth the fees they are charging. The bed is like a rock & the pillows are thread bare thin, the shower erupts like a volcano from its source to then send out sprinkles of water, impossible to wash your hair in. The bathroom constantly smells sour. The sheets were never changed in four days it was an absolute shocker.
There was one divine girl on the desk who was so lovely & helpful & all the kitchen staff were very lovely people.
I would Never recommend this Hotel.

We stayed at Palazzetto Pisani last weekend, we had a suite overlooking the grand canal and it was beautiful. The room, lounge and ornate bathroom were clean and spacious. It felt very regal and steeped in history. We managed to see quite a lot of other rooms and other parts of the house and it was a real treat. The place was decked out with chandeliers, oil paintings and beautiful Venetian bijou's. In any other part of the world, you may be of the opinion that it needs some TLC, but this is Venice and it merely adds to the charm.

Well worth a visit.
