What a wonderful hotel and ideally located - I was travelling with my husband and two children 3 & 11 buggy and 4 cases and kitchen sink as my husband would say. What an ideally located hotel especially for the train station and with the vapperattos just beside it - brillant. As their was 4 of ous we had a family room which was Venice was quite reasonably priced and also quite spacious and nicely decored, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and thank god for air conditioning.

As for staff, they couldnt have been more friendly and helpful - they even offered for us to leave our buggy down in the lobby to say us cartering it up the stairs which was a godsend after all the bridges we had taken it up and over. They also kept our luggage the next day as we were getting the train to Lake Garda in the afternoon.

But the highlight has to be the cappuccino which was made by a male! (the owner) I dont think Ive ever had not one but a few cappuccinos like it - absolutely lovely - Id nearly go back alone for another one.

Definately would recommend this hotel and hope to visit again.

My family and i stayed here for only a few days but it made the trip even more enjoyable. the hotel is very close to the train station but tucked away so that you dont hear any street noise, its also very close to the grand canal so getting around is so easy. the hotel has very nice rooms with enough space in each room to actually move around, unlike most italian hotels. breakfast was good and the service was nice but most importantly the price was very fair. will be returning to venice soon and will definatly be staying here again.

La Locanda di Orsaria is an extraordinary place to stay, and I cannot imagine a better option in Venice. As I travel frequently (avg. 75 hotel nights per year) I can say with great confidence that you will scarcely find better customer service. Everyone, from the owner down, treats customers as friends and they are always happy to help.

This hotel is also the perfect location for exploring Venice, especially if arriving by train as it is located just 2 minutes walk from the train station. There is also a water bus stop right in front of the hotel. If you prefer to walk around, the major sights can be reached in just 20 or 30 minutes, with many interesting canals and streets along the way. After all, wandering around and getting lost in Venice is a great way to see the city.

I have stayed at La Locanda three times, twice for business and recently in June for vacation. Every time has been a great experience, with the rooms always clean and comfortable. But, perhaps the best of all is the cappuccino at breakfast...it is quite possibly the best in Italy. We went here based on all the good reviews and everybody was right. It was the shortest walk from the train station I could have imagined and you felt worlds away. Our main reason for staying here was so we didn't have to lug our luggage anywhere on the vaporetto and that was indeed a good decision. We were given a "superior" room for the regular price so it had more of that Venetian decor than I expected. The room was large enough and comfortable and the bathroom just fine. I question who designed the shower/tub as it has a too-short piece of glass keeping the spray in and it doesn't work that well but it wasn't really a problem. There also didn't seem to be an elevator so we had to pull our luggage up four flights of stairs but we're still somewhat young and healthy so that also wasn't a problem. The best part is the price (120 euro a night) and we could walk everywhere from here. I'd definitely recommend this one.
