“Forget the rest of the reviews....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

Hi guys....

For some of you reading negative reviews like we did of this hotel then we have only one word....IGNORE!

We arrived at the Rialto on a Saturday and hit a minor problem with our booking where we had booked two rooms with a canal view but they had miscalculated and only had one available....

They could have made life difficult, as could we....but they were sooooooooooo apologetic...they immediatly upgraded us to a suite, the other couple with us were moved to a suite with a non canal for one night but then given the best suite in the house (room 402, book it if you can) fore the next night.

Free champagne arrived for both couples, along with chocolates.....

Reception and all staff were perfect and they were VERY busy as a hotel....

Breakfast was amazing, the serving girls prompt with tea and coffees....

Would we return? Yes, tomorrow :)

Hope this helps you all and many thanks to the Rialto staff if they reads this for an amazing 3 days.

Room Tip: Room 415 and 402 if you can get them :)

With its views of the Rialto Bridge you cannot beat Hotel Rialto for location. We stayed in a balcony room. There was an actual balcony you could put a few narrow chairs on. It had the most amazing view of the Rialto bridge and the Grand Canal.

The room was large with a nice bathroom. It was nicely furnished and clean.

The included breakfast was ok but not great. Cereal, some pastry, eggs.

This hotel with the amazing view from our room made Venice that much more special.

Great Location for this hotel and easy to get to and find as its right at the Rialto vaproetta stop. A great spot to explore from. But the hotel really needs a refurn. A bit shabby overall and pretty noisy. 4 star price but Def not 4 star standard.

Stayed here in January 2013. Hotel location is perfect...right on the Grand Canal by the Rialto Bridge, and right by the Rialto boat stop from the airport. Hotel is clean, room very small but beautifully furnished. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast. Staff very polite and friendly. Definitely recommend this hotel for you to explore Venice as it is bang in the centre.

Room Tip: We got a very small (nicely furnished room) so if you want something larger you would need to ask fo...

We stayed last weekend at the Rialto Hotel. The location is great with the rialto Bridge right outside, and the waterbus stop also. We had a junior suite, the room was a little dated but very clean, the bed was very comfortable and changed daily. The room had a fantastic view of the Grand Canal. The breakfast is quite basic, and not much choice. I would definitely go to this Hotel again and would recommend it.

The Rialto is situated right beside the Rialto Bridge, in the heart of Venice, close to transport, restsurants of various types and all the tourist attractions. We did not pay for a suite or a view, as we had no plans to spend our short break in the hotel room. However, our room was pretty, decorated in the Venetian style, with a very acceptable en suite. The lighting was a little dim, but we were not inconvenienced by this. Our room was on the top floor, only reached by higgledy piggledy staircases, but this just added to the charm. Breakfast was continental, but there was plenty of it. Contrary to some reviews, we found the staff friendly and helpful, particularly on the day when the ground floor was flooded due to acqua alta! We had a fabulous time in Venice and are delighted that we chose this hotel.

I'm just writing this review to say that it's everything you would expect from a 4-star hotel except for the service. This hotel was not worth my money. Is it worth yours?

We stayed here over the New Year's from 30 Dec '12 - 1 Jan '13. The room was nicely decorated room, clean and cute. The location is great, very convenient to get into the centre.

However, we called to ask for two pillows, and for the first time in my life, a response from the hotel reception says "Come down, I give you." I asked if he could bring it up. He says "No." So I walked to floors down to get it at midnight. Were they busy at that time? I don't know.

The next morning I called, "Can I have the WIFI password please?" The man responded, "You come down." Maybe they were not busy last night maybe there was no room service in this hotel. I asked him over the phone "Do you have room service?" to which he said no. So I went down.

A hotel is a business of service, and if you do not have room service, this is a hostel with nice rooms. I appreciate the interior and location, but can I not stay anywhere else, getting the same benefits PLUS room service like normal 4-star hotels do everywhere on Earth?

I don't normally complain. You don't have to impress, just don't upset. You don't have to exceed my expectation, just meet it. In short, I did not get what I paid for.
