I booked this hotel after reading the good reviews on Tripadvisor and was not disappointed. The location is minutes from San. Zaccharia vaporetti stop, so a good base but away from the bustle. We couldn't find the hotel at first, but tip when you arrive at San Zaccharia stop, go through the alleyway that has a sign above it for 'S. Zaccharia' and 'Carabinieri' - Sott. Calle San Zaccharia. This takes you to the square with the church - Campo San Zacharia, turn left into Salizz San Provolo and continue the short distance to the bridge, turn left before the bridge where you will see a small green sign at ground level (we missed this) for Le Isole. The hotel offers a complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar and picked up from our passports that my husband and I both had birthdays during our short stay and left us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in our room! I agree with other reviews about the staff, particularly the Reception staff and the very friendly waitress at breakfast. The hotel is immaculate. Don't worry if it rains and you forgot an umbrella, they offer guests umbrellas to borrow at the front door. Glad to say we only needed briefly on the first night. There are lots of restaurants nearby but be wary of - the prices some charge for wine, which can vary from a reasonable 10 euros a bottle in one while another of a similar standard would charge 22 euros for the cheapest bottle! Also service charge can vary, up to 15%, as well as the cover charge. As elsewhere, we found the best restaurants were those where the locals were also dining. Venice is an amazing place.
