“Great Staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Hotel Bisanzio. The friendly & helpful staff made it. They arranged private motor taxi to Murano, recommended restaurants and directions. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. Good location and quiet.

A fantastic hotel in a great location. From the moment we booked (7 women) the service was excellent. We wanted two twin rooms and one triple which only had single beds. No problem. Wanted the rooms close together - no problem. Wanted to arrive before normal check in - no problem. Wanted to leave our luggage and use the facilities for another half day after we checked out - no problem. So the reception staff really helped make this an excellent stay. They provided kettles, unlimited teabags and milk, daily wifi codes and coped with 7 demanding women superbly.
We opted for superior rooms which had seating areas and small terraces with excellent view of the rooftops and spires all around. Flat screen tv's (not used), fridges, in room wifi, comfy beds, safes, and excellent showers all made the rooms very comfortable. We had plenty of hanging space with two wardrobes, a chest of 4 drawers and two bedside cabinets. The decor was attractive and the room was very clean. In fact the whole hotel was very well cared for.
The location was first rate - a few minutes from St Marks Square, but in a quiet side street. Two small bridges away from the water taxi stops. We ate at a couple of restaurants recommended by Gabriel which suited our party. He also booked opera and ballet tickets for our group.
If you are visiting such an expensive city as Venice, it is a treat to find this gem of a hotel which offers such good value for money. I'm planning to return with my husband - thats how good it is!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have sloping ceilings but also have terraces.

Very impressed by this hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Very near major sites but managed to be quiet. No complaints whatsoever, to the contrary. Good breakfast. Reception happy to give directions and always welcoming when we returned.

Great location especially for the price- very handy for St Marks Square and the water buses. Friendly and helpful reception staff who all spoke good English. Everything was clean nod well looked after.

Our room was kept clean and was perfect for our needs. The fridge was good to keep. Few things in from the nearby mini mart to make up our lunch. Much cheaper than buying it!

Breakfast was basic continental and ok for us.

Only comment was that in April warm spell the hotel were not allowed to put air con on which made the room stuffy and couldn't open windows for risk of Mosquitos (aware of people being bitten while we were there). Nothing the hotel could do but just be aware.

Would return if ever in Venice again and would recommend.

Venice is SOOOO expensive, that finding a nice quiet, small, clean hotel in a nice location is quite a treat. We were very very pleased with the rooms, the service and the charm of this hotel. Very very clean. Lovely upscale décor. Beautiful furniture and beamed ceilings. Our bathroom (room 304) was roomy, clean and serviceable, but finishings are dated. They are not a marble and mosaic, but perfectly ok. The lobby is lovely. The breakfast is included and very ample. The reception team is very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Room 304 is lovely, windows on 2 sides, not much view but lots of nice light. Quiet. Bathroom could...

This is a lovely hotel in a very good location, close to San Marco and the vaporettos. In spite of being an American Brand (Best Western), this hotel has all the charm one would expect of a smaller hotel in Venice. I would stay here again the next time I go to Venice.

Room Tip: This hotel has the charm of Venice with modern facilities. The hotel is set back a few 'Venetia...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
In the heart of Venice, in a location that is extremely quiet but close to all the principal attractions of the city, the Hotel Bisanzio occupies an ancient 16th-century palazzo that was once the home and “workshop” of Alessandro Vittoria, one of the most important Venetian sculptors of the 16th century and a student of the great Jacopo Sansovino. A recent, careful restoration has allowed the Hotel Bisanzio to preserve the fascination of an ancient Venetian palazzo that is, today, equipped with every modern amenity, to ensure a relaxing stay in a structure equipped with elevator, air-conditioning, LCD TV and Wi-Fi Internet access. Ease of access is not secondary when talking about Venice, where people almost always get around on foot. The Hotel Bisanzio is perfectly located, just 150 meters from the city's main public transportation stop (San Marco - Zaccaria), where all the lines for the other areas of the city and the adjacent islands arrive and depart. ... more   less
