“Excellent Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Stayed three nights and the room was beautiful and the service was the fastest I have ever seen. We called for help with the TV. Poof! Little man knocking on the door to show us. We called for a European plug for our Iphones. Poof! Little man knocking on the door to give it to us. We called to ask for the roof deck to be unlocked. Poof! Little man unlocked it.

The roof deck is unlocked upon request. Gorgeous sunset. We had it to ourselves.

We had a junior suite on the second floor (nr. 216) with a small balcony, enough for 2 chairs. The room had a face lifting a short time ago and looked new and beautiful. I thought the room might be dark, but when the heavy curtains were moved, it was bright and sunny. The view was amazing. We could not get enough, sitting on the balcony and watch the scenery. A canal view room is an absolut must! Our other favourite place was the ground floor bar outside next to the dining terrasse. After sightseeing, we came back and had the best bellini ever (!!!) with a cheese/meat plate oder an insalata caprese and were watching the crowd moving along the quai.
We arrived with a private boat charter from the parking San Marco to the quai accross the hotel. We had large suitcases and it was worth to pay the high price for a private charter than squeeze in the public boats.
The location ist just perfect for sightseeing, people watching, sun, and boat transfer.
Breakfast was good with a selection of fresh fruits, meat, cheese and italian sweets. Eggs had to be payed (should not be in a hotel with this price). Dinner menu was not our taste, so we took a snack at the bar next to the outdoor restaurant. The outdoor terrasse was the prettiest on the whole quai and for this always full. If you plan to eat there, you should make a reservation in advance.
The service over all was good, sometimes at the reception not 100%.The atmosphere relaxed and casual. Higly recommended.

Room Tip: canal view room

We had the most fantastic stay in this amazing hotel.
Lucky enough to end up with a a suite with lagoon view and terrace
Let's face it -- what more can you ask from your accomodation ?
Breakfast was superb, very filling and set the day up perfectly
Front desk and concierge staff were first class
We didn't eat here apart from breakfast but I reckon if we had it would have been superb
When we come back to Venice this is where we will stay cos the hotel is fantastic, position superb and we will be within walking distance of all major sites of interest

This hotel is in a perfect position with easy walking distance to all sights. The hotel is very well maintained and very clean in all areas including public and the bedrooms.

During our stay the room was very well looked after by the maid and any requests we had attended to immediately. The quality of furnishings and bedding in the room is excellent and each room is decorated to a very high standard, however, as the price of this hotel is so high, this is only to be expected!

Food in the restaurant is very good, although expensive but no more than anywhere else in Venice and this has the benefit of a wonderful location. Breakfast is served in the restaurant with seating inside or outside and is plentiful with wide choice of continental style buffet. There is a menu for hot food which is charged as extra and is overpriced for what it is.

Most of the staff here are very friendly and willing to help, however, the reason for the 4/5 rating is that some staff do let this hotel down. Whilst most of the reception staff were friendly and helpful during our stay, there was one member of the concierge team who we found quite the opposite (not sure of his name). He chose to ignore us when we approached the desk, fortunately there was always someone else who was willing to help on hand. Also, some of the breakfast staff gave the impression they were doing us a favour by being there, even though all they actually did was serve a hot drink as everything else was on the buffet.

This is however, a fantastic hotel in a superb location, its a shame that in our experience some of the staff let it down.

The Londra Palace enjoys perhaps the best location of any hotel in Venice, overlooking the Bacino San Marco, San Giorgio Maggiore, the Salute and Dogana del Mar. It is only a very short stroll to the Doges' Palace and the Piazza DI SAn Marco. It is a perfectly maintained, lovely facility with an accommodating staff that deftly balances appropriate formality, consistent with the status of the hotel, with a genuine concern for the needs and wishes of its patrons, and a desire to make guests' stays memorable. The Londra Palace is in an historic building, and as such, the rooms vary considerably in size. Our rooms were nicely decorated, but, in the same class, were substantially different from one another, and I suspect that the level of satisfaction with rooms may depend on the particular room assigned.

The restaurant, Do Leoni, is superb. With excellent cuisine and beautifully appointed, and with an extraordinary view, it is to be highly recommended. It is definitely among the finest in Venice.

We have stayed in a number of fine establishments in Venice over the years, but I believe that the Londra Palace offers the best combination of qualities, making it our choice for future visits.

Room Tip: Deluxe and junior suites offer balconies with views over the Bacino. They are more costly, but if o...

For my special birthday we visited Venice and stayed at Londra Palace. What an experience. The staff were really great and couldn't have been more helpful arranging my birthday treat of a private water taxi to Murano to visit the glass factory and then on to Burano for lunch and a visit to the lacemakers. In the evening another water taxi together with a bottle of prosecco, took us on an hours trip round the canals and down the length of the Grand Canal. A birthday to remember! Thank you to everyone involved.

Room Tip: Suite overlooking the lagoon with balcony on the 4th floor was ideal for watching the world go by.
