“Fabulous Hotel in a Top Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

A few short steps from the Piazza St. Marco and over a couple of bridges, along the Grand Canal, one finds the entrance to this oasis of tranquility in an otherwise frantically busy location, even in winter, in one of the most glorious cities of the world. There is an air of elegance about the hotel with a lovely lounge on one side of reception, overlooking the Grand Canal through large picture windows, with a further lounge and the restaurant beyond, on the other side of reception. We were greeted most warmly by the staff and shown to our suite, the Borges Suite on the second floor. This was truly luxurious accommodation comprising a lounge, separate dressing room, 2 full bathrooms and the bedroom. The lounge overlooks the Grand Canal and has its own balcony whilst the bedroom overlooks the back and is very quiet. Furnished in classic Venetian style with antiques and Venetian wallpaper, the rooms are very comfortable with flat screen TVs. Service was immaculate and the restaurant served a very good breakfast, included in the room rate, as well as fine Italian fare in the evening. Free wifi was also provided for guests, a nice touch. All in all, a great experience.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Grand Canal are best for the true appreciation of the city.

A fantastic hotel with great location on castello. A small luxury hotel, the londra palace hotel is the ideal hotel for a short break in venice. The location makes it easy to walk around the main tourist attractions or catch the vaporettos to other islands. The public water taxi to the airport also goes from just outside the hotel. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and speak many languages. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice and lots of fresh fruit.

We did not want anything extravagant in terms of palatial hotels, just a nice smaller scale hotel to enjoy Venice and this was perfect for us. It is a historical hotel and has that atmosphere you want. What we really appreciated about this hotel was that the staff were really nice. Everything from the pick up at the airport, the water taxi ride and the strongest man we have ever met carrying our luggage to the hotel reception from the pier (he was CARRYING our 3 suitcases, not dragging them and we travel heavy...). We started our visit with a leisurely lunch at the hotel which was perfect and very good - the waiters were charming, what girls dream of especially when you go to Italy so our stay started off really well. The reception staff were so helful and kind... everytime we came back from a visit or walk, they were already holding our keys in their hands and waving them to us which was just so amazing. They made reservations for us and it was all perfect. We had a room with the lagoon view, but be careful if you have all the curtains open, our room was level with the cruise liners coming past, we had to hide!!! The rooms are ok and very Italian, therefore if you are expecting something modern you will not find it here. It was extremely clean and comfortable. We would like to thank the staff for making our trip to Venice so memorable, we will be back!

Room Tip: We wanted the view for our trip so had the Lagoon View room, however if you do not want noice then p...

Beautiful hotel in the perfect location. Just round the corner from St Marcs Square and the water bus stops right outside to take you anywhere else.
Very friendly and extremely helpful staff.
I took my mum for her birthday and we stayed here Thursday to Sunday, we paid £45 euro for a 3 day pass at the airport which allowed us to use the busses and water busses unlimmited times, but we did pay £110 euro for a private water taxi back to the airport to go home.
I plan to return to Venice with my husband and will deffinately stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: We stayed on 2nd floor and it was vey warm on that floor for some reason. we booked last minute and...

We just returned from 8 days in Venice at the Londra Palace. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. It's perfect--the location, the staff, the rooms and of course, the view. Our room had three floor to ceiling doors that opened on to a balcony overlooking the Basin. What a beautiful scene to wake up to every morning.
We were so tired the night we arrived that we decided to stay in and have room service. My husband moved the table in front of the windows and turned down the lights and the view was breathtaking. The room service was wonderful and food excellent! We had Pasta with lobster sauce, prociutto and melon and a bottle of excellent wine.
The staff at breakfast every morning were so pleasant and efficient. We never left our room without encountering a friendly staff member and a pleasant "bon giorno".
The bar staff--Marcella, Francesca, and Marino were all wonderful and made our pre and post dinner cocktails so enjoyable. We looked forward to seeing them every day.
A perfect place to stay for a perfect vacation. We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a logoon view. It is so beautiful and it is Venice afterall.

We stayed there dring the Venetian carnival. It was simply fantastic, located at the pier next to Piazza San Marco ist is easely accessible by water taxi and once you get Off the boat in you can already see the entrance of the SLH of the World belonging hotel. The welcome desk was very nice and Altklugheit we were early they made our waiting time pleasant by inviting us for coffee and a smalll breafast. We had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the roofs of Venise. The room was spacious with all comfort you can expect from a 5star Hotel. The Concierge was very helpful in organizing restaurant advice and indicating spots to see. Wi-FI Connection free, was a nice round-up. Braekfast was was rich with Sally and sweets equally represented. OJ freshly squeezed!
Finally the Central location makes this Hotel a Must Book when Stalingrad in Venice.

We just kept smiling, the lagoon view, the quality of the room - look out for the squishy walls (-; - the breakfasts, the bar, the concierges, the vaporetti stop outside the hotel (number 2 is a great tour of the whole of Venice) and so on....In the same way that Venice is a complete one off - we think the Londra Palace is too! Not too stuffy - just right!
2 minutes walk from St Marks Square, it was the perfect base to explore a perfect city!

Room Tip: get a lagoon view it is so worth it!
