“A great stay in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

An extremely comfortable stay in a hotel where the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly-their attention to detail was impressive. The breakfasts were fabulous, a marvellous array of different foods. I have to eat gluten free yet there was always an appetising choice of different dishes. Make a point of having an end of the day drink in the bar while the accomplished Papadopoli pianist entertains as this must surely be the most relaxing way to unwind. All in all an excellent break and a lovely hotel to return to after walking the churches, galleries and byways of Venice all day!

Room Tip: Currently undergoing some exterior renovation so check your room isn't affected. Pianist was Fr...

My husband and I have recently returned from staying for 3 nights at the Papadopoli, as part of our 30th Anniversary Celebration. When making the booking I had mentioned that it was a special occasion and I'd like to thank all the staff as we were thoroughly spoilt. The room was clean, welcoming with a great view, and a small balcony overlooking the canal. The bed was very comfortable, with fresh crisp linen. The manager left a welcome note with a selection box of Italian biscotti, alongside the usual tea, coffee, water etc. Then on our first night when we returned to the room, we were surprised to find a bottle of bubbly on ice, and two glasses of strawberries had been left in our room with a congratulatory note. The hotel is everything that you would expect, but to my mind it was the service, and attention to detail that sets this hotel apart. It's location also makes it ideal for visiting all the islands, without having to drag your suitcase miles, as it is so close to Piazzale Roma. The location is quiet, and relaxed, yet you can easily hop on a vaporetto and head off to most areas.

Room Tip: Great views from top floors, we stayed in 425 which had a small corner balcony, and a good sized, we...

This is our second stay at the Papadopoli. The first was in high season so it was good but crazy busy. This time in the off season was fantastic. The staff is lovely especially at the front desk. We had a great room on the top floor with lovely views over the city and the area is quiet at night. The breakfast buffet is very good, especially since it was not so crowded. Location is very convenient to the train station and several major vaporetto stops. Would definitely stay here again.

In our third stay in Venice, which was the last stop in our European winter trip, we have decided to stay in this hotel specially due to its nice rooms and convenient location, close to Piazzale Roma, since we would be arriving from Austria by the OBB bus. We got a little worried when we received emails from the hotel warning us about the façade work and the possibility of not having a view(we had booked a room with a view to the canal of Tolentini). We have decided to stick to our original plan and not to cancel, but we have told the hotel it was a special trip after our anniversary and that we expected they would do their best to accommodate us. They were, in fact, great! We got a three windows corner room with a little balcony and wonderful views, gift wrapped venetian biscotti, prosecco and strawberries, plus welcoming drinks in the cosy lobby bar(we have chose Rossinis and they were great!). Breakfast is served in a wonderful winter garden and it was very good. The staff was very welcoming. The room is spacious enough, decorated in venetian/european style, clean and comfortable. And the location indeed was very good for our needs, both for arrival/departure and for exploring this amazing city.

Room Tip: Ask for what you need, they will do their best to accommodate you!

My husband booked Venice for a surprise for my 30th Bday in January. We stayed at this amazing hotel, which was fabulously Venetian! The reception and rooms were fantastic and the staff well very attentive. Only small issue with the breakfast that was not to my liking and a smaller range of food than expected (however perhaps as a British breakfast lover that maybe a little mean).

Room was rather hot also, but Italians seemed to find the January weather very cold as we're rather more used to it!

Overall absolutely fabulous stay and great location. Would defiantly recommend.

Just got back from Venice and our stay at Papadopoli. Despite it being Carnivale, the hotel was good value, and our room on the top floor with a lovely balcony was excellent. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The exterior building work was not going on and looks near to completion so do not be put off by that. The bar and the restaurant, whilst on the expensive side are very good and the staff very very pleasant. Would definitely consider on a return to Venice.

Arrived by train, picked a hotel we didn't have to walk far to. but with suitcases, it's still a fair walk. Staff were great.
Stayed in a luxury room with balcony overlooking the tole ntini canal.
This room was fantastic. Hotel is close to many restaurants & markets.
Had breakfast downstairs in the restaurant which was also good.
Would stay here again
