“Simply the best in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

We visited Rizzardini on several occasions during our trip to venice. Both the coffee & pastries/cakes were unsurpassed & the atmosphere was lovely, one of our enduring memories of Venice!

“Take a break from sight-seeing and join the locals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2011

The first time I travelled to Venice I happened upon this tiny authentic caffe by accident. Every other time, I have sought it out - and been as excited to re-find it as I was to find it the first time! The coffee is the best I have ever tasted (I usually have the macchiato) and the little cakes ('pasta') to die for. The perfect size for a mid-morning snack, or a mid-afternoon snack (or an 'anytime-of-day-snack'!) This time we had the ricotta cheesecake and the almond cake - both were amazing. Do as the Italians do. Muscle your way in. Find a place to stand. Order your cake and coffee. Enjoy! Then pay (unlike many other bars/cafes in Italy, you order first, pay when leaving) and make way for other people to enjoy. This place is always busy (deservedly so) so try not to dawdle, and avoid if you have bags. But definitely worth seeking out!

“Great coffee and cakes - a must go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2010

Just find this small bar and at anytime of the day enter and have a coffee and a cake. Tiramisu is great, as is the cornetto con pana. There is no seat so you just take your coffee at the counter as Italians do. Great atmosphere and wonderful coffee and cakes. If you hesitate, as for advice. You wont be let down.

“Lovely Antiquated Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2010

This place is right on the main drag between Ferrovia and Rialto so I am sure is mostly frequented by tourists, but it is a really pretty shop with a tempting display of sweets in the windows. I have no idea how authentically Venetian it is but it looks the business to me. The coffees are great, the sweets absolutely delicious. You can also imbibe an afternoon prosecco which it is more common with the Italians. I don't speak Italian but all of the staff seemed friendly enough and cappuccino and a 'pasta' were under €3. I stopped there whenever I could possibly arrange my sightseeing to cross its path. This will definitely be my local coffee shop in Venice from now on. No seating indoor or outdoor - standing room at the bar. It is a small shop.
