“The real luxury? Having a Public Relations Manager”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2011

I have been staying in this wonderful hotel for a couple of days and although the high season in Venice, the relaxing atmosphere and the gentleness of the staff made me feel the unique client at the hotel! That is the word: I felt UNIQUE! But The real luxury was meeting Laura DiBert, Public Relations Manager of the hotel. She suggested us only local tips,(that we carefully followed), she dedicated to us attention and professionalism that in no place in the world I could find, not even in Mandarin Oriental, where we normally stay! She was able to recreate romantic situations for me and my husband (surprising us almost every day) and at the same time make my children at the Kids Club the happiest in the world. The entire family did not want to leave the Cipriani, our new discovered treasure. And we are sure now that we will come back because real luxury is Laura and all the amazing staff! I suggest the Cipriani for romantic break or for a family holiday. In both cases it exceeds the expectations.

We stayed as part of a package after a trip on the Orient Express and therefore had a much lower rate for our stay. This made it excellent value. The rooms, the location and the staff were all very good. The breakfast was aslo very good.

The only slight downer is that the food in the cips Club is good but not as good a standard as I would expect for the price compared to other restaurants in Venice.

Room Tip: The rooms are very large a spacious

My husband, two daughters and I arrived at the Cipriani on July 27th 2011 for an eight-day stay. From the moment Roberto greeted us when our motor launch arrived at the hotel, we felt as if we were in Paradise. The hotel exudes glamour and the service is impeccable.
We had interconnecting rooms with fabulous views of the Lagoon and enjoyed delicious al fresco breakfasts, watching various motorcraft go by as the sun glistened on the water.
We did not feel the need to dine anywhere other than the hotel and loved both Cip’s Club and the Fortuny for their excellent menus and attentive staff. Sipping Bellini cocktails at Cip’s Club and watching the sun setting over Venice is a great way to end the day.
Nothing was too much trouble for the superb staff. We had booked our holiday through Elegant Resorts and our travel consultant had liaised with the Concierge team, who ensured our tour guides and various museum tickets were all in place ahead of our visit. When we suddenly realised that Sting was performing his Symphonicity Concert in St. Mark’s Square on the third evening of our holiday, the wonderful Roberto spent time on his day off sourcing tickets for us, for what proved to be a memorable evening. We were certainly well looked after.
The hotel’s launch is available to whisk you across to St. Mark’s Square within a few minutes and it is a great feeling to rejoin the launch and escape all the crowds and head back to the calm world of the Cipriani and its glorious pool and gardens.
With Sting a mere table away during lunch at the poolside restaurant ahead of his concert and then at breakfast the morning after, we too felt like rock stars and can’t wait for our next visit.

Our family of five had the most wonderful time! The ambiance is superlative and service even better. We were so impressed by the warm welcome we received by the entire hotel staff, including Roberto and Gianni. What a pleasure to have them arrange the perfect 18th birthday for my son at Cips. It was so great to be able to leave the busy island to return to this elegant oasis across the grand canal. I can't imagine staying anywhere but here in Venice!! Thank you to everyone for making our trip unforgettable. We will be back!

We stayed at Cipriani 2 nights before a Seabourn Cruise to Athens and after the 2 nights we did not want to leave at all. The service is very classy, personal and elegant without being intrusive though. From Roberto, whom you just have to like, to the pool crew and housekeeping: They all seemed to really know and to CARE what they were doing. They were each and everyone very devoted to their work.
Value for money has never been good in any of the top hotels in Italy, be it the Hassler, the Caruso, Villa d'Este, Splendido Royale etc. So forget about that. If you can afford it go and just pay for it -
This hotel is pure "Italianita"! The pool and the nice gardens are paradise during the hot summer months. And since the boat to Piazza San Marco is running all the time, one is in the city within minutes.
Food at the Cips was very good; Fortunity was so so.
We were celebrating our anniversary and they upgraded us to a beautiful suite at the Palazzo Vendramin w/ a lovely view of the canal. Here every guest is treated like royalty, also if your name is not Brad Pitt or George Clooney, though you my well be coming across one of them during your visit.
We also liked the place because it only has 90somthing rooms and is very personal w/ the GM always being around and checking on people.
We will be back! Thank you very much Cipriani - Team!!

I had the dubious pleasure of having going to the Fortuny bar at TheCipriani for drinks on 7 July before heading off for dinner. The service was nothing short of appalling with many bar guests commenting behind us about dreadful, inattentive staff - we left after only one drink having had empty glasses for over 10 mins and trying to wave for service.

Restaurant guests waiting at the door, ignored for over 5 mins to be seated, other guests topping up their own wine and water and starter plates left for over 15 minutes.
No leadership or direction - in short an utter shambles.

To cap it off I wrote an email to the GM - Mr Ottazzo who has taken 3 weeks to "respond" - stating that a series of unfortunate events and a shower caused this chaos. He asked for no further details or information about our visit other than to confirm where we were sitting. In my opinion - it all starts and finishes at the top.......... Particularly at the top end of the market.
We are returning to Venice this winter, but will not be returning to The Cipriani.

This hotel is pricey but is by far the best hotel in venice. You are greeted at the airport by the cipriani boat and taken to the hotel where check in is effortless. The hotel itself is on its own island away from the main town which adds to the charm and exclusive feel to the place. The boat is available at any time to take guests over to st marks square. The rooms were spacious and elegant and service from the staff was very efficient. Also the restaurants were very good. amazing views over the lagoon watching the sunset with a glass of champagne was one of the highlights of our stay. Great place to relax and enjoy venice.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Cipriani embodies 50 years of glamour and legend, la dolce vita Venetian style, with a peerless view to the grand Palladian Church of San Giorgio. This is the Venice of everyone's imagination. The Cipriani is only three storeys high and has that classic, comfortable, "lived-in" grandeur. It is a perfect blend of historic and contemporary Venice - opulence tempered by simple elegance; antiques and works of art offset by innovative touches of unbridled luxury. The grounds are breathtaking: small gardens, expansive lawns with vines clinging to ancient brick walls or trellises and an Olympic-sized heated swimming pool, as well as a clay tennis court and a wellness centre.
