“Come and take the pic, then move on”

This is a very historic bridge, and that's the selling point. While beautiful and iconic, I found it swarmed with overpriced stalls. Anyway, the best place to change river sides!

“Very crowded but the energy is great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

Rialto bridge is one of the great sites of Venice! There are numerous shops inside the bridge and tons of tourists. As Venetian masks are popular I would suggest buying one at Rialto bridge as there's a vast selection to choose from here.

This is definitely a place to visit while in Italy.

“Great view BUT overcrowded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Fantastic view over Canal Grande, but this POI is so overcrowded, that it is not worth coming here over day as the evening view is even better with less people around.

“What.....a bridge you say!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

It's such a pity that the Rialto bridge is such a tourist trap..... Having spent more than the usual 'couple of days' visiting Venice, I began to loath the crowds of tourists clogging up the bridge... I feel so sorry for the locals trying to make their way over one of the very few pedestrian routes over the Grand Canal ;)

With the exception of the honey trap retailers located on the bridge who enjoy the captive audience, it seems that the majority of those standing, camera in hand, are oblivious that this is, in fact, a Bridge... not a photo opportunity :)

“REALLY ENJOYED THE TIME WE SPENT IN THIS AREA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Got to see this, a must on your itinerary. Check out the stores in the little winding streets on the way to the bridge. Look out over the little bridges as you cross little canals on your way to Rialto. Once at Rialto stand on the bridge and watch the boats and gondalas traveling down the canals. Some recommendations – while at the Rialto Bridge take a meal in at the lovely restaurant – can’t remember it’s name. Traveling from St Mark’s Square arriving at the Bridge, walk over the bridge and turn left. There over looking the canal is a red restaurant. Heaters and blankets are provided during the cooler months. Great food. The Best Gondaliers in the whole of Venice are just past this restaurant. Young man (5th generation gondalier) took us on a 30min ride for 100Euro. Gave us a tour, with stories, pointed things out, spoke great English and even sung and whistled for us!
