Description: In the heart of Venice, only two minutes from Rialto Bridge and less than ten from S.Marco Square, you will find the restaurant "Da Mario alla Fava". The restaurant opened its doors in 1960.The menu is basedon recipes from traditional Venetian cuisine, reworked and lightened for today's preferred tastes, with the interjection of creative reinterpretation, meny with seafood, but not only. The desserts are allhome made, created with extra special attention in the moment. In summer the restaurant have a very nice terrace beside a typical Venice Canal, where having dinner by candlelightOne of the walls of the restaurant is lined with hundreds of photographs of famous celebrites who have enjoyed Da Mario alla Fava.Recalling Mario alla Fava motto: "If you are sad and bored with life, you will rediscover joy at Da Mario alla Fava.

Atmospheric room, friendly and attentive service, delicious food including some traditional Venetian dishes. Probably the best meal of our week in Venice.

“medium price, but food is brilliant!! you can choose half portion!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

I went to this incredible restaurant just for chance!!
it is attached to Rialto and I have just came across!
I read outside of the place the chance to eat half portion and so I entered! Honestly I don't have a big stomach and I appreciated that chance!
staff was very nice and friendly!
I enjoed a lot "saor with polentina calda" they were great
And after that I choosed the delicious and unbelievable: "fegato alla veneziana": the best I tried in Venice!
Desserts are good as well!
From my point of view half portion was more than ok for me!!
Of course this is not a low price restaurant, but honestly the level is higher and the price I spent deserved it!
I took (all half portion): "saor" as appetizer, as first dish "fegatini alla veneziana", one dessert. And I drank two glasses of wine: total price around 40/42 euro!! If you really want to taste typical venice food, go there!! it is really worth it!!!

“Not a bad place in a culinary desert”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

The meal was of reasonable quality although it lacked vegatables and they squeezed customers in like sardines and we were practically sitting on our neighbours laps. Friendly staff and nice Limoncello touch at the end
