“Put it on your list, somewhere near the top.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

The clock tower architecture itself if very interesting, but there are three good reasons to join the tour for for this attraction.
Firstly, the young lady who takes you on the tour is very quirky and bubbly. She is a local Venetian and gives you a fantastically animated synopsis of the history the clock tower.
Secondly, only twelve people are allowed per group to view the clock tower. It is a welcome respite from the hordes of tourists in the square.
Thirdly, the top of the clock tower offers commanding views of the basilica and the square.
Put the clock tower near the top of your to-do list in Venice.

For sure worth to visit, very nice location at San Marco, looking to the coast side. Very good condition, not devastated, definitly example of Venice architecture.

“While you're in St Marks Square.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

There is plenty to see in Piazza San Marco, including this amazing, ornate 14th century clock. I only viewed it from the front and from the top of Campanile di San Marco, but while you are visiting the other more famous buildings, it's worth having a look at this fine structure too.

“Time stops for no one.”

It is after all just a clock but you have to go and see it to tick it off your list of sights to see. There are plenty of other sights nearby so as you stroll by just look up and then you can say you've seen it. The astronomical clock in Prague is much more impressive.
