“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

It's free to enter but there are small costs to see other parts of the Basilica. We went up the stairs and on to the terrace. Was 5 euros each - was nice but could have been little less costly. No bags are allowed in the Basilicia so you have to drop your bags off and return to the queue. It was fine as there wasn't a long line - we didn't go up the tower though but looked amazing. Be careful of the flower men - there were numerous times of where they've tried to put the roses in my handbag - just say no!!

Was a nice visit thought, basilica is free to enter but would say you could do it all within an hour.

“Go During Low Season”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

San Marco was already crowded in March, but we did not have to wait in a line. Get there early and enjoy this amazing church.

“A treasure.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

The sheer scale and grandeur of the Basilica will knock your socks off. It's free to get in but it is worth paying to get into the different sections such as the treasure museum (look out for the holy bone and skull relics housed in gold and glass casings). The Basilica evokes Venices rich and not always entirely honorable past and is worth experiencing.

“Peaceful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

The basilica is beautiful from the outside and peaceful inside. You can wander inside for free or pay about 5 euros to go up a staircase and go outside for great views over the square.
