“Hotel restaurant of the Marriot airport hotel in Venice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2011

Very good restaurant for being a hotel restaurant. Far above level food with fast and good waiters speaking fluently English.

“Not Good-Very Expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2011

This restaurant is off the lobby of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel at the Venice, Italy, airport. The service was slow. The waiter did not seem to be familiar with the menu. We had to ask about the status of beverages and dinner more than once. The food when it arrived was not good. One dish was described by my sister as the worst thing she had ever tasted. Although she was unable to eat the "Venitian pork". No one asked if we were satisfied with the food or offered a replacement. The biggest problem is that the people eating here are exhausted airline passengers with little choice as to any other place to eat. I guess they think they have a captive clientel, so why bother to serve good food. I am surprised that Marriott has not improved this restaurant, since most Marriott related hotels do serve good food in their restaurants.

“Go to the Da Mario Bar/Cafe before 7.00”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2011

The Da Mario Hotel adjoining the Marriott Hotel has another section--a bar and cafe--that is open before 7.00. We went at about 5.00. They sell sandwiches to go for 2 or 3 euros. You can have an Aperol spritz at the bar standing up for 2.50 euros or sitting down for 3. There is free bar food, including pizza, dips, and olives. Or you can sit at a table for a small cover charge and order pasta that costs a lot less than the dinner menu prices--and was delicious! The Marriott sells their own "snacks" (think Doritos) and does not advertise this pre-dinner section of Da Mario. Almost every other person in there was, seemingly, a local.

“slow, mediocre & overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2010

There aren't many choices in the vicinity of the airport, and we thought it would be nice to have an actual sit-down meal. First problem - they don't open until 7 (unfortunate for an airport hotel restaurant), and all the other people with early flights rushed in along with us. Neither the servers nor the kitchen were prepared to deal with an entire dining room that filled simultaneously. Second problem - the regular menu is incredibly over-priced, but the semi-reasonable set menu provided mediocre food. It was shame to have their air-filled and stale gelato as the last taste of gelato in Italy. A pizza from the local place next door would have been a much better option.
