“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Just returned from Venice - one of the highlights was this wonderful bed and breakfast. We arrived at 11 pm and were delighted to find our hostess, Stefania, waiting for us at the vaporetto to make sure we did not get lost. The room was spacious, comfortable and well decorated. Plenty of food always available in the dining room - cereal, cake, fruit, coffee, etc. Stefania could not have been kinder - makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend staying here while in Venice

Our recent trip to Venice was enhanced by our choice of You & Me B & B. Stefania was a lovely host and the accommodation was very comfortable with some nice personal touches. We would definitely recommend this B & B if you are considering a trip to Venice.

We can only agree with what all the other reviewers have said - this bed and breakfast is truly exceptional for many reasons but first and foremost must be your lovely hostess Stefania. Her simple but entirely accurate website gives you a good idea of what to expect.

We contacted Stefania by email and were most impressed with the speed of her response. We have stayed in 3 hotels in Venice over the last few years and this was our first time in a bed and breakfast. We were so glad to have the personal service in a "real" Venetian house. Stefania does not advertise with a sign above the door - this is because passing tourists would ring the door bell and disturb the guests in her 3 rooms! Those who know about this little gem will find her easily so don't worry.

Reaching Bed and Breakfast "You and Me" is so easy from the airport. We like to arrive by boat so we used the Alilaguna Orange line. (Turn left out of the airport and follow the covered open air walkway - about 7 or 8 minutes. Go to the public transport dock which is just past the water taxis. You can buy your ticket at the kiosk there or on the boat for 1 Euro more. It costs 15 Euro each way with a reduction for a return ticket) The orange line boat takes you right down the Grand Canal so you are dropped very near the house.

We were met by the lovely young man who keeps the place so clean and tidy - Nuan. He carried our small cases (pack light!!) up the steep stairs and we had our first sight of Stefania. How many times are you greeted with a hug and kiss? Never in my experience of hundreds of bed and breakfasts. We knew then that she was a special lady. She is such a genuinely lovely lady that we both felt immediately at home and comfortable. What a relief when you are in a different country to know that there is somebody to look after you and who speaks such good English. So much nicer than an impersonal hotel.

Stefania showed us all the facilities, gave us a map and told us to treat the house as our own! She gave us a lesson on how to use the Italian coffee maker which we loved and used every day. As you will have read from other reviews the kitchen is kept well stocked with all kinds of fruit, yoghurt, fruit juice, milk, all manner of teas and coffees, hot chocolate, pre packed breakfast items like croissants, butter, jams and daily fresh items like the delicious apricot tart. We think that Italians have a sweet tooth at breakfast! Still and sparkling water is always available. There is no set time for breakfast as you help yourself whenever you want.

A special memory was that my husband celebrated his birthday while we were there. I had not mentioned it but Stefania had noticed the date when she looked at our passports and left a card and bottle of Prosecco chilling in a cooler in our room along with a beautiful glass necklace for me!!!
How lovely. We were so very touched by her kindness.

The area around the house is typical backstreet Venice - little narrow alleyways, steps, bridges canals and squares. Small local, food and gift shops line the streets. The thoroughfare is quite busy during the day as people seem to use it to get to the railway hence the "Alla Ferrovia" and Piazzale Roma signs. Close the shutters at night and you will sleep well.

"You and Me" is modern, spotlessly clean, comfortable and beautifully warm - a welcome relief as February can be cold. You have independent control of your heating or air conditioning unit.
The room has a safe, hairdryer, plug in mosquito deterrant, TV and wi fi. We could not have wished for more and were hugely impressed.

I thought long about writing this review out of selfishness. Once people know you will never be able to get a room!! Generosity of spirit overcame, hence the review. Stefania deserves recognition. She is the perfect advocate for the most beautiful city in the world.

Thanks also to all the people who reviewed on Trip Advisor - without you we would never have known about Bed and Breakfast "You and Me".

Stefania - Grazie per la tua gentilezza e generosita.

After reading all the wonderful reviews and receiving my first email from Stefania I knew we had chosen the right place to stay. Location, location and location......for seeing all the sights and using the vaporetto......easy to find......and on top of everything a wonderful a great bed and breakfast. The two rooms we had had were spotlessly clean and of good size....the beds so comfortable.....good windows and shutters to block out any street noise......and the kitchen dining area is well stocked all day for your use with sweets and juices and water. AND then you have your hostess....Stefania who could not be more accommodating. Another plus was wifi and you get this all for one of the lowest rates in Venice. Would I recommend You and Me?.....for sure!!!!

I am a little late in reviewing B&B You and Me, however, the memorable experience we had there will always be fresh in my mind. I cannot say enough about Stefania’s charm and hospitality. She met us upon arrival and cheerfully pointed out areas of interest around Venice. The rooms are all beautifully decorated with tasteful furniture and comfortable bedding. We stayed with two other couples and had the entire inn to ourselves. We could not have asked for a more suitable accommodation especially at that price point. The location is very convenient as it is just a few minutes from the San Silvestro Water Bus stop The common area and kitchen are very handy and always well stocked. I have never experienced such a generous assortment of snacks and beverages that are continuously made available to guests throughout the day. This was a perfect setting that truly felt like our home away from home. I would not hesitate to recommend B&B You and Me. You will not be disappointed!

Stefania welcomed us like family. We had the whole place to ourselves. Rooms were large and the bathrooms were spotless and modern. Stefania went out of her way to take care of us and make sure we had plenty of breakfast foods and snacks for the entire day. Great selection of coffees and teas; the Camomile tea was the best! We will definitely come back again!

Only got a chance to stay a day and a half but we made the most of it! Hostess Stefania and her assistant Nuan were charming and helpful. Dining room and frig were well stocked with yummy pastries, fruit, yogurts, cookies and more! Fun to learn how to make Italian coffee by Stefania. Rooms were a good size and rain shower was perfect. Remember to close shutters to keep street noise out. Location was convenient. The ladies in our party quite enjoyed having gelato and gift shops right downstairs since we had rain. Venice is a charming jewel to visit - checked off semi-romantic (3 couples on board) gondola ride off my bucket list!
