“A welcome seat in the shade”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

The day we walked around Venice it was around 40C so finding spots of shade was a task as they were all full! We saw the tables under the awning and I just insisted on sitting down and ordering a LARGE Peroni. The staff were all young Japanese girls. The beer was fine and best of all cold;there was a group of Italian studenty types on the next table having an animated conversation which made it feel very local ( as in not so touristy). we were not rushed to finish and there is a loo so you can knock
€2 per person off the bill saved from the public loos. Interesting bit of graffiti / street art on the wall.

“Beware”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

Reading the earlier reviews, it looks like this bar/restaurant has changed hands.

Four of us stopped for a drink, two draught beers & 1/2 litre of white wine. My mate who knows his beers took the beers back because they were not up to scratch and changed them to Peronis, with the barman still telling him that the beer was OK. The Peroni was OK.

Unfortunately the white wine was undrinkable....we tried adding ice because it wasn't chilled enough, but to no avail and most of it was left.

When presented with the bill, it included the first two beers that had been sent back.

Needless to say we didn't pay for them, but it caused a very unpleasant situation, in an otherwise fantastic trip to Venice.

Didn't eat there.....maybe that's OK ????!!!!...but places do need half-decent house wine.

“Good for people watching”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2011

We visited this pub on several occasions during our stay in Venice. It was nice to get a drink and sit outside and people-watch. The drinks are varied and the prices are fairly reasonable.

Edward the Bar manager is a nice Albanian guy who speaks excellent english. Beer of good quality with the odd free nibble thrown in.

“Lots of Fun, Great Value, Cool People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2011

We did some previous research before our trip to find out where the least expensive, coolest locations in Venice would be. Campo San Margherita topped the list since this is where most of the college kids hang out. We saw Raging Pub right as we entered the area. There was a menu board right outside and it mentioned not having a sitting fee or service fee to take advantage of an outdoor table. Most places charge for this, so we decided to take advantage. Eddie was our bartender/waiter. I believe he is the manager of the pub. He was a lot fun. We went there our first night and met two different sets of backpackers who were super cool. On the second night, we met an amazing honeymoon couple from London. I actually ate dinner here our first night. They have tons of options. I selected #29 - The Penne Arribiata. It was really delicious and under 8 euros. They have a few beers on draft like Guiness and Peroni. They also have house wine on draft as well as other cocktails on special. They also serve Absinthe. In addition to great prices, lots of options, and super cool patrons - they also played great music. We liked it so much we went there both of our nights in Venice. I recommend it!
