It was quite a transition to move from the narrow and disjointed alleys of Venice to the sleek, clean, modern and upscale Impronta Cafe. It was a nice respite from the "graceful decay" of Venice to enjoy amazing Italian food, friendly and proficient service at reasonable prices. It was refreshing to see that they considered every detail, from food preparation, to ultra-clean facilities, to the sleek leather and ostrich skin covered menu books. We would definitely recommend and would love to visit again. If you do visit, don't skip desert -- amazing Tiramisu and panna cotta.

Among all the similarly dimly-lit traditional Osteria of Venice, this restaurant stands out as a beacon of modernity and chic eating. Bright and welcoming, the Impronta Cafe serves interesting traditional dishes like rabbit with a contemporary twist. Two courses with wine and plenty of bread came in at less than €65. Lovely staff, great food and a welcome change from the usual Pizza and Pasta dishes of Venice, it deserves its ranking

This review is really about the above as that was all I had in Impronta for 2 nights in a row! Having said that, the food is generally of good quality and not at extortionate prices. No sneaky cover charge and it sure beats getting ripped off by the many other tourists traps dotted around the island.

We had a good walk to get there, but worth every step. Really innovative and fresh food. The pesto, caprese salad, and vongole were standard dishes but done in creative way that really was perfect. Also excellent selection of wine by the glass.
