“A little Venetian palace on the Grande canal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

We made our way to this hotel in the dark, hauling bags with light snow dusting the buildings, so you can imagine how delightful it was to be shown to the GianBattista Tiepolo Suite with its four poster canopy bed,the inlaid wooden flooring, walls and curtains of rich brocade and all at a very reasonable price. The breakfast was lavish and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again given the chance.

Room Tip: Choose a suite, go on, indulge yourself.

We stayed for one night and loved it! We upgraded our room and was given the superior room and it was beautiful! The room was very clean and the bed was absolutely comfortable. The staff was wonderful; they even brought up our luggage which was a surprise-great customer service!
The hotel was conveniently located, just across the bridge from the train station and right on the grand canal! If we were to come back to Venice, this would definitely be our choice!

Room Tip: Definitely upgrade if possible, you may have to pay a bit extra for it but it is worthwhile!

I and my wife stayed here for 4 nights during our honeymoon (Nov 2012). AWESOME - is one word to describe everything: be it location (right next to grand canal and St. Lucia station), cleanliness, quality of room, hospitality of staff (especially Gianni). We had booked a prestige double room and informed staff in advance about our purpose of visit so that there are no glitches. The staff is very helpful, and rooms/bathrooms are top-quality. Can find no fault. The best hotel room we had stayed in during our honeymoon (including 5-stars in Rome & Switzerland). Must, must, must stay for couples.

This hotel provided a wondeful experience for my wife and I when we stayed for 2 nights recently. The location is great - central and a short walk from the main railway station (where there is also a water-bus stop. Upon arrival on a cold evening, we were warmly greeted and immediately felt welcomed. We were shown to our room which was small but beautifully formed - a bit like the entire hotel really. The decoration is very traditional, but with all modern conveniences. Service at the hotel is impeccable - it just cannot be faulted. The staff are extremely friendly and polite/ Upon hearing that my wife was celebrating her birthday a bottle of prosecco immediately appeared - a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Highly recommended.

This a is very special property that when you arrive can make you feel slightly over awed. This feeling soon disappears when the exceptionally well trained and friendly staff start communicating with you. We had a super three days stay here where the food and service was exceptional.

I spent two nights at the Hotel Canal Grande last week and had a fantastic stay. The hotel could not be more typically Venetian if it tried! My room was smallish (Typical of most Venetian Hotels) but very comfortable and furnished in traditional Venetian style. The Staff are first class and extremely friendly. Very highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a canal fancing room, If you drive to Venice avoid the expensive river taxis the hotel is so...
