“Olde World meets New”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

A wonderful combination of olde Classical charm meets New World comfort.

Stayed here with my wife and Daughter in a Deluxe Room overlooking the courtyard.
We initially were hoping for a Canal view but were not dissapointed as there were plenty of opportunities to take in these particular views.
Also gave us a much quieter morning time as the Canal traffic can start up early.

The Hotel is Ideally situated in a Prime spot away from the maddening crowds and
located in a Residential neighborhood ( Sante Croce) this Hotel also offers options aplenty.
Great variety of Restaurants nearby and directly next door to The San Stae Vaparetto stop and Church.
The Venice Casino is also one away on the opposite side of the Grand Canal.
For anyone wanting a touch of Luxury without a ridiculous price this Hotel offered great value for money.
Unfortunately, our European trip was cut short following an accident my wife had in The UK however,we have unfinished business and we will be including a return trip toHotel Palazzo Giovanelli also :) highly recommended.
Really helpful Staff on all levels and it would be unfair to single one out over the other.

Room Tip: Don't despair if u miss out on a Canal View as the overwhelming awe one experiences when you see...

We only had a whirlwind visit to venice and had one night here. For a short trip it was perfect, good quality rooms and bathrooms, decent breakfast and extremely convenient for the waterbus both to and from the airport and also into/out of the centre. Having said that we mainly walked from the hotel and it was a pleasant and short stroll to the Rialto bridge. Venice is wonderful.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet so only pay up if you want the canal view.

By far, for us, was the ability to get a transfer from the airport to the hotel at midnight. Well worth the cost to have the hotel arrange for us to met at the arrival area and be taken by water taxi directly to the hotel's waterfront entrance.
Very comfortable room with a great view of the Grande Canal and the church next door. Easy to walk to everything. The most fun is getting lost and finding the interesting places on the small streets.
The staff was very helpful and professional. Breakfast was nice, but not special.
Word of warning-if you don't like hand-held showers, ask if there are any overhead showers.

we enjoyed our stay - clean, modern, good breakfasts, great staff, reasonable internet access (10 euro's for entire stay). the best part was that the Vaporetto stopped right outside this grand canal front hotel. A very special extra is the common space on the second floor in which you can relax, read, drink a glass of wine etc.(BYOB) This is a former palazzo converted to a hotel so some of the space could not be used as rooms - they are central to access to other rooms. The resulting space is large, lovely, romantic and almost always empty of other guests. My only issue is about the bathroom; the shower has no walls so the water goes all over the place and the towels they provided are lovely but more like dish towels than bath towels. You can request the terry cloth towels and they will bring them to you.

Room Tip: there are different sizes and styles ranging from straightforward room to elegant suites - and they...

We were booked into La Palazzo Giovanelli by my sister who said the place was, and should be the only place to stay at when in Venice. We had a nice little (sound proof) room on the third floor with a balcony overlooking the grand canal, kind and friendly service and very central to all sites and sounds. It's the perfect get away from the busy streets and waters of Venice, what more could you ask for? What I liked most was the comfortable bed, the A/C (a must, especially when Venice can get very hot and humid), and the spacious bathroom. Wish we stayed longer.

Wonderful hotel with many hidden beauty spots and a tremendous amount of style implemented in the hotel.
Although the ceiling was a bit low in our room this was highly compromised by the excellent location and friendly service staff.

my husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in mid-October 2012; it was a wonderful start to our vacation in Italy. It's an old (but well-renovated) palazzo in a quiet neighborhood right on the Grand Canal, next to a vaporetto stop, but with its own dock as well (which was great, because we took a shared water taxi shuttle directly from the airport). Staff was very helpful with restaurant suggestions (all in the neighborhood) and other information, and the breakfast buffet was ample and inviting. Our room was a good size, with views over the garden, and a modern and well-furnished bathroom. The location was great - away from the noise and tourist atmosphere of the Rialto and St. Marks Square, but close enough to walk to in about 20 minutes.
