“Follow the Venecians!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013 via mobile

We wanted food liked by locals - this was it!
Right opposite Rialto fish market - fresh fish superb cooking simple - wine by the glass - help yourself from the bottle
Don't miss the prawns and scallops
Cash only -no cards - tiny restaurant bit cramped - people waiting to sit down!
Novel experience!!

“A Locals Favourite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Pronto Pesce now only opens of a day and is directly opposite the famous Venice Fish Market a short straight walk after crossing over the Rialto Bridge. It goes without saying that the produce is fresh and is turned into some exquisite (Cicchetti) like morsels. The cafe is compact but very laid back and the counter in front of you displays an array of varied and traditional dishes.
The cost is reasonable considering it is only a short walk from the Grand Canal and its inflated prices.

“what a treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

My wife and two kids were on a challenging mission--find a good, local, and affordable lunch in the heart of Venice. Thank you trip advisor friends for pointing us to Pronto Pesce, which is opposite the Rialto fish market. It doesn't have an obvious sign, just a small sign on the window, so it took us a while to find it. We asked the proprietor to fix us a few plates of cichetti (like tapas) of various seafood dishes. It was delicious--fresh and perfectly seasoned. Couscous with tuna and vegetable was really good on the side, too. I would say that you have to really like fish. This is no fish and chips place, but a restaurant that wants to highlight the flavors of seafood. It's low key--plastic plates and bar stools--and affordable. We ordered quite a bit and it cost us 10 euro each. Despite all the trip advisor commentary, it was not crowded with tourists so go enjoy a great meal away from the masses.

“Great chichetti!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

Lovely little place to go for a glass of wine and some really fresh, tasty chichetti mostly fish from the market opposite, note that it's only open around lunchtime. You order wine by the bottle but just pay for what you drink by the end, its easy for a bottle of prosecco to slip by because you're having such a nice time!

“Tapas with Modern Twist”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

This is a great find in Venice, and a nice change for repeating menu of pasta and pizza. Pronto Pesce is a tapas place, and then owner / operator uses only freshest ingredients from the fish market right across from his store. We tried 6-7 tapas, all were good, and went very well with white wine we were having. Place is a bit hard to find, but if you found the fish market then you are in the right place. A word of warning: Pronto Pesce is open only a few hours a day, from about 11 - 3PM.

Cheers to Anthony Bordain, who visited Pronto Pesce in his trip to Venice!
