“How great service can really make a hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

This could easily be yet another up market hotel in a city noted for its tiny hotel rooms and lack of space. Ca Pagan is a wonderful hotel primarily because the staff. While the rooms look like they were personally decorated by Caravaggio, any blemish fades into insignificance when you constantly encounter staff who are friendly, helpful and always on hand to assist. This is an amazing hotel and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view of the courtyard are better

Our stay in the Ca'Pagan hotel was wonderful. We couldn't have received a warmer welcome from the extremely helpful British lady on reception who also provided us with lots of useful advice and was always on hand if we had any questions. She even had an adaptor on hand for us to borrow (we took the wrong one!) The hotel is on a quiet street - so a good nights sleep - but is also very close to all the main sights of Venice, so very conveniently located. There is also a water bus stop very near by for when your feet get tired! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for quality accommodation in Venice. If I had to think of a negative then it would be that I couldn't find an english speaking channel on the TV!!

We stayed at Ca' Pagan for 3 nights and loved the hotel. The location is excellent and the rooms are tastefully furnished and very clean. The receptionist, Lorna was most helpful and the restaurants she recommends are better than those that you will find in any guide book, and they are close by.

The only thing that was negative about the hotel was the Internet service. My wife and I had two devices each and most of the time we could not get on the Internet and when we did get on the service was unacceptably slow. To receive even a weak signal, we were in the Chippendale Suite, you had to stand at the hall window or at the bathroom window.

If an Internet connection is not important to you while in Venice, the Ca'Pagan is a wonderful choice. Unfortunately in my case I must be able to check email and communicate for an hour or so a day, so I warn all prospective visitors to check the internet service before booking.

I booked ca pagan whemn in Venice for work recently based on trip advisor and web site. It exceeded my expectation. Was in room 208 in seperate building, spacious quiet. No view but I was never in room by day o that did not matter to me. It's in a gorgeous location and you can walk safely everywhere and big bonus is you can take water bus directly the st marks sq waterbus stop that connects to aero port water bus ..Venice with its narrow streets and steps..ths convienance really matters. Great staff. Thank you. Mary mc carthy cork ireland

Room Tip: Don't be put off by the steps up to room 208

After getting a little lost ( which is always part of the fun in Venice) we found the hotel within 10 minutes of getting off the vaporetto using directions given by the hotel. On arrival we had a warm welcome from Lorna at reception who also gave us a really useful map. Within 5 minutes of scribbling she had given us a better plan of our time in Venice than our 2 weeks of planning beforehand and everything she recommended was fantastic, especially the restaurant Acqua Pazza which is only 5 minutes away.

Our room was very nice and spotless clean. We had the room just above the reception which was unfortunately noisy at times from above, below and the room next door although the street outside was very quiet. The bed was a little hard and no matter how much I slept I would still wake up tired but in such an old fashioned city I'm not disappointed.

Location was excellent, 1 minute from a small vaporetto stop and 3 minutes from a larger one. 10 minutes to St Mark's Square and loads of nice restuarants and shops nearby.

Breakfast was good. A selection of cold meats, toast, cereal and freshly made coffee, what more could you ask for?

Overall a good hotel made excellent by Lorna on reception who was there every time I went past and couldn't be more helpful. We will stay here again if I return to Venice.

We spent 2 nights at Ca' Pagan in Venice and we really enjoyed our stay. The service is absolutely fantastic and they make you feel at home. This small boutique guest house is cozy and well designed. The rooms are spacious, ultra-clean, and well equipped.

The breakfast is very good with a great selection of hot and cold items. The breakfast room and courtyard are comfortable and relaxing.

The location of Ca' Pagan is perfect being in a quiet location away from the main tourist traffic, yet close enough to walk to the main sights. There are two vaporetto stops within a 4 or 5 minute walk which is really convenient.

The friendly, helpful and genuinely nice service can't be beat. If you stay at Ca' Pagan you will not regret it!

We stayed at this hotel for only 2 days, it is close to everywhere, the service is great, rooms are very well designed. Lorna is a great host. Before we arrived, she sent us clear instructions by email telling how we will reach out to the hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet part of the town but close to almost everywhere. She knows the area very well, understands your style and requirements, recommends great places to visit and knows the best restaurants. We definitely would like to stay again.
