“It's like a palace, but smaller :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

This hotel is truly designed in a Venetian classical style. We stayed there for 2 nights and were very pleased with the location and the hotel itself. We took a bigger room and it was so beautiful!!! With two windows and a spacious bathroom. We also liked the price, which was very good for this location and period (August). So, if you want to fully enjoy Venice and get the taste of Venetian style - choose this hotel :)

Room Tip: Better take a bigger room :)

Such a great hotel, loved how we stayed in a palace! Beautiful, big n ancient! Very clean n welcoming! The reception man showed us things to do n see on a map, n showed us to our room.
U have to go to a diff reception desk to the actual palace. Loved how we had a balcony to have a smoke n watch the world go by, gondolas. Had fun talkin to the Italians from the balcony. Breakfast was great! Except it was still all their when we got back around 3? The milk would of went of n the meats, but looked in the fridge to put our champagne n they just put it all back in their. Hrrmm yucky. Anyways such a good lil location. I do recommend do not go to the rest next door as its grabs u with the €10 lunch but really n cause by the time u pay for service charges n so on its ridiculous n the food was shocking! Great for us backpackers to treat ourselfs to a palace that was reasonably cheap! We're a couple n we enjoyed it very much.

This was an amzing little hotel. I wasn't expecting much considering I was paying 50 euro a night, but it exceeded my expectations. The staff member who greeted me on arrival spoke flawless english, and was very friendly and helpful, supplying me with a map and suggesting things to do, showing me to my room in the annex and assuring me that the streets are safe at night (it wasn't worrying me, but nice to know they reassure people)

Breakfast is great, and the staff are very attentive and friendly, asking if you want coffee while you are filling your plate.

Very charmingly appointed rooms, especially the annex which has a sitting room separate from the bedroom in some rooms. Would definitely stay here again!

Oh the only downside, their double beds are two singles pushed together :/

Room Tip: Stay in the annex if you can. If you stay in the main building you need to hand your key in as you l...

We stayed in this hotel in November 2012. This hotel has a great location and a friendly staff. This hotel is very near to San Mark's Plaza and vaporetto (water buses) stops. The breakfast was awesome. Rooms are decorative. The hotel manager gave us free upgrade of the room as well :) We loved our stay in this hotel.

Pros:
1) Great location (right between S. Marco's Square and the Rialto Bridge, approximately five minutes' walk in either direction).
2) Delicious complimentary breakfast .
3) Very helpful and kind staff at the front desk. They gave us a map of Venice and circled sights and such. When it rained, they lent us an umbrella.
4) Generally clean (fresh towels, shampoo and soap; but a floor that seemed unswept) and fairly large room with bed, couch, television, fridge/sidetable combo, and personal bathroom.

Cons:
Only two, but they were enough to make us uncomfortable.
1) Very thin walls.
2) Staff knocked once and then entered our room. It was in the afternoon, and I'm sure they assumed we were out vacationing. However, it was intrusive. The woman was apologetic, but did not offer to give us a discount or something. After that I never felt completely comfortable that we'd have privacy. Whatever they needed to do (measure the window, or something? it was weird), it should have been done from 11-2 (the time between checkout and checkin) or some other time when no guests or guests' belongings were present.

We suggest looking at the hotel on Google Maps Streetview so you will recognize the building, but we found it easy to find without it because there is a banner over the doorway with the hotel's name.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. However, I thought these things may be important to mention to future guests. Some people don't mind hiccups like thin walls or staff intrusions; for others, it ruins their vacation.

Room Tip: Oh, and be aware that you might book a room in the hotel's annex, which is just a street away an...

We slept in a room in the next building very unpleasant one with no safe and no wifi like we were promised. In the room a lot of Mosquitos. Breakfast is very poor. The service at the reception is very good.

We were originally booked and confirmed at the B&B San Luca but, two months after booking, we discovered quite by chance that the B&B was going to be closed when we were due to stay there! Once we had gotten over our shock of what might have been, we asked them to find us other accomodation. They picked the Hotel San Luca for us and it turned out to be a brilliant little hotel! The location is perfect - just a short and very pleasant walk to St. Mark's Square and even less from the Rialto Bridge Vaparetto stop. Our room, right next to the reception, was obviously recently decorated and was beautiful. Both the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and much more than we expected in Italy. The dining area only has six small tables which meant that we had to wait for a table on one day of our stay, but it really wasn't too much of an issue. Daniel, who greeted us, was very friendly and helped us plan our time in Venice. His English was perfect. Other staff in the hotel speak only a little English but still tried to help as much as they were able. We would defintiely go back!
