“Honeymoon Upgrade - Grt Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2011

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon and one stop was to AD Place in Venice. The service was perfect, very nice front desk. Very clean rooms. Great breakfast. Large size rooms, in comparison to normal european hotels.

All of the rooms are named by the months. We were originally put in "December room" - on the first floor but very private and safe on the canal. Then the front desk told us they were going to upgrade us on our las night there, being it was our honeymoon. They went above and beyond, and gave us the most beautiful room, March, with a canopy bed and HUGE living room. When you opened the windows, you looked out to this sweet canal and small bridges and could watch the gondola rides go by. That night ,Kamal, at the front desk (super nice), set up champagne, strawberries, and a ton of lit candles in the bedroom with rose petals on the bed. It was so romantic and really made our trip. Thanks Kamal! Also, the location is amazing if you want to be able to find romantic and beautiful piazzas other than the very popular ones. You can walk to the Rialto and San Marco in minutes. There are signs everywhere directing you to the main places. I would definitely go back and recommend this to anyone.

After a long flight from the US, we drove into a parking garage on the circle and took the Vaporetto to the Santa Maria del Giglio stop - a great introduction to the city. Giglio is a quiet stop and just past the little circle and a narrow walkway, the buildings open up the a canal with gondolas passing by. AD Place is on this canal and was a welcome sight for our tired selves. The doors opened up to an incredibly tasteful design in the lobby with the best front desk attendant we've ever come across in our travels. We were in the December room on the 1st floor which was pretty spacious - beautiful room with great amenities (a huge bowlful of their free dark chocolate) and clean facilities. Our room had one window that opened out to the canal - not much of a view, but we did see gondolas go by frequently and were serenaded by accordions and singers throughout our time which was great. The breakfast spread upstairs (included, along with wifi) was fantastic and sent us well on our journey to Tuscany. Careful attention to a small hotel - a true hidden gem... expensive, but worth the price.

Really impressed with all aspects of our stay. The location is excellent, easy to find and get to and is in a really good spot. The hotel is stylish, fun, quirky and unique. Modern yet tastefully designed and with everything you could need. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great value rate booked directly with the hotel. Overall highly recommended.

This place looked great. The breakfast were also great. some of the things missing here was instruction. We visited 4 cities while in Italy and all of them were clear on what was included with the price of the room. This room offered the least for the most amount of money. The air didn't work the shower was small and leaked. We were not the only ones with problems with the room. Another couples room was flooded. The manager did compensate for the air not working, but I'd try another B&B next time.

Stayed here with the hubs for our first trip to Venice. It was absolutely gorgeous. The bed was so comfortable and we slept very well. We had a lovely window overlooking one of the canals, and could hear the singing of the gondliers as they would go by ferrying passengers. The hotel is easy to get to either by water taxi (expensive) or by the water bus (much better deal- about 2 Euro.) There is no elevator in this very charming building, but that is Venice. Also, the bathroom was a bit small, but again- it's Venice and space is at a premium. It is very easy to walk where you need to go from here. We walked and browsed and never failed to come upon a wonderful view or tiny sandwich shop. The staff was very helpful with recommendations or with being helpful in anyway in which you may need it. I had some postcards to mail and they offered to do it for me- including getting the postage for them, which I thought was very nice. The rooms are very well insulated and we never heard anything from our neighbors- of which there are few. This is a boutique hotel specializing in service and presentation. Free wi-fi is provided. We were not disappointed and would stay here again without reservation, as well as recommend it to our friends.

My husband and I stayed in the Ad Place venice hotel for our honeymoon and were very pleased with the accomodations and service. The hotel decor is beautiful, breakfast buffet was expansive and delicious, and staff was very helpful. We slept very comfortably and were very happy with the location- being pretty close to San Marco square. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice stay, especially Kamal. For our honeymoon he brought us complimentary champagne, strawberries and other goodies. We really enjoyed our stay and would definately return or recommend Ad Place to those traveling to Venice.
