“Beautiful boutique B&B off the beaten path!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I stayed at this lovely boutique bed and breakfast with only six rooms pre-cruise, and we were delighted by so many aspects of the property.

First of all, the location of the property on the North side of Venice Island means several things: It is very close to Fondamente Nuove, one of the first stops for the Alilaguna Water Bus (15 Euro per person from the airport); second there are far fewer tourists here so it's easy to find uncrowded water taxis (ACTV) that can take you anywhere, third the canal adjacent to the hotel gives you a much more personal view of Venetian life than the Grand Canal.
Additionally, the property owner Alexandra is very helpful, finding us a needed outlet adapter and a post office.

The rooms are a bit small but adequate, and the breakfast was quite good (just don't expect eggs and bacon...this is an Island after all). The breakfast room opens up into the canal and has a single outside table...usually available if you're up by 8:30 when breakfast starts.

The hotel has free wi-fi and is in a safe location (all of Venice is safe) but there was something about the property that makes you feel at peace.

Finally if you are continuing on to a cruise, all you have to do is go back to Fondamente Nuove where the airport water bus dropped you off, take ACTV water taxi 51 or 41 to the Piazzele Roma stop, and hop on the "People Mover" tram (1 euro) to the pier.

This place is absolutley stunning. The rooms are gorgeous and are more than adequate for a city break. The location I think is perfect and if you follow the directions you can't go wrong. Air con, much needed in the heat, clean rooms and free wifi!

The staff are fantastic, its seems nothing it to much. Breakfast was simple but more than sufficient and the fresh coffee and never ending orange jucie and pastries would have no hesitations recommending this little gem.

We were able to check in early and leave our bags safely during the day until our night flight home.

We booked a canal view room for a relaxing few nights at the end of our holiday. Our room was beautiful, the air conditioning was powerful (and well needed) and the hospitality was brilliant. The breakfast in the morning was really nice (fresh croissants) and the quaint canal view really brought Venice to life. Definitely note down the instructions from the website before you arrive as otherwise you might find it tough to find!

A super small B&B/hotel in a quiet location away from the crowds. Easy to find from the directions given - we arrived from St Lucia station on the Grand Canal on the vaporetto. There was another vaporetto station the other direction with boats to Murano, Burano (a must visit), Torcello and on to the Lido. Room 5 had a 4 poster bed and was very well equipped with good en-suite bathroom with excellent shower. It was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was taken in a room overlooking a small canal and you could see the postman going by in his boat delivering the mail! The hostess was charming and gave us good information and suggested an excellent restaurant where her introduction allowed us a 10% discount!

My wife and I stayed at Alle Vite Dorata in early July for two nights and loved it. This was our first time in Italy and this B&B was a great way to get our vacation started.

Location
First of all, it was fairly easy to find (there are very clear and accurate directions posted on their website). The location is nice: not far off the Grand Canal and just a block or so off of Strada Nuova, which is kind of like a "Main Street" with restaurants, gelato shops, and a grocery store. (There was also a smaller grocery store right around the corner from the hotel, which was very useful for buying water.) The hotel itself sits right on a smaller canal which made for a relaxing setting during breakfast.

Accommodations
The room was nice and clean. We stayed in the Gold Room, which was good because it was at the end of the hallway. I was able to still hear other doors opening/closing, footsteps, etc., but I think that all buildings in Italy are like that just due to their age. (We stayed at three B&Bs in Italy and I found that, in each, there was not a lot of sound insulation.) The bed in the room was large enough for me (I'm 6'4" tall) which was nice. The bathroom was clean and, although a bit small for me, got the job done just fine.

Hospitality/Service
Aleksandra (the owner) was amazing. My wife had trouble sleeping the first couple nights and Aleksandra helped by giving her some vitamins and making her a sandwich one afternoon. She seemed genuinely concerned to learn if the bed in the room was large enough for me. Breakfast was amazing - pastries, cereal, juices, coffee, meats, etc. - and very well-presented with the canal adjacent to the eating area.

Room Tip: The Gold Room was nice because of its location at the end of the hallway.

We stayed here for two nights in July. The directions provided on their website were excellent and we had no problems finding the inn even though we were running on only a few hours of sleep.

We had the gold room (Room #5), which was perfect because it was tucked away down the hall and one of the last rooms in the inn. It wasn't a very large room, but it worked considering we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The room was clean and comfortable and quiet. There are no English channels on the TV, by the way. The bathroom was snug, it was difficult for my husband and I to be in there at the same time. However, it was clean & modern.

Breakfast was provided every day. There were selections of sweets, meats, fruits, yogurts and breads every day. Coffee, tea and juice were readily available too. There were a few cute tables set up inside for guest and there was one table outside that over looked the water in the canal. It was a very sweet set up and we enjoyed filling our tummies there.

Aleksandra was a wonderful host! She let us check-in early (10:30am) and was ready for us every morning with a delightful breakfast. I was having a tough time with my jet lag and she provided me with magnesium and potassium water mixture that helped me feel better and she even made me a ham sandwich for lunch one day. Again, such a gracious host!!!

We enjoyed our experience at this inn. Aleksandra was wonderful, the breakfast provided was a great start to our days there and we'd love to stay there again.

Room Tip: Room #5 was at the end of the hall, tucked away from the other rooms and it was quiet there. Room #3...

We were delighted with every aspect of this innl. Quiet and interesting location on a small canal, few minutes walk to two different water bus stops, one on the Grand Canal and the other perfect for Murano/Burano and the airport. Water taxi can pick you up right at steps into the inn. Walking distance to many major sights. Beautifully decorated and comfortable room overlooking the canal. Few minutes from shops and restaurants in pleasant neighbourhood of Cannaregio. Lovely breakfast in charming diningroom with small balcony looking out on to canal. Owner was extremely pleasant and helpful, especially with our early morning departure, leaving coffee and breakfast available for us. Highly recommend this elegant inn if you want to escape and yet be near the touristy side of Venice!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the canal
