It was our first afternoon in Venice, so we decided to try one of the touristy places just below Rialto bridge. The best thing about this place is the location. And that’s what you mostly pay for. I had the squid cooked in black ink and my buddy had a mixed seafood dish. Both tasted adequate for what the restaurant is, and for the location priced fairly. It’s actually easy to spend a LOT more in other places around Venice. Can’t expect much from a tourist place such as this. Service left a bit to be desired though, as the waiters wrestled to remove the large overhead umbrellas above us while we were in the middle of our late lunch. Other patrons simply left or moved tables. It really was an annoyance. I don’t understand why they couldn’t wait 5 minutes for us to finish dinner. To top it off, the waiter gave grossly incorrect directions to our hotel, which was a 3 minute walk from the restaurant. I realize that maybe even locals get lost, but, please don’t give incorrect directions. It would have been fine to say that he didn’t know.
Location is great, but don’t expect much else.
Try one of the others on the Fondamenta. There's about 4 or 5 in a row.
