“Great stay at Ca'Barba B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

We were here to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and we couldn't have pick a better place to stay! Alessandro met us and guided is to the B&B lugging our suitcases and once arrived he brought them up the stairs (impressive) and to our room. Once settled Alessandro imparted his vast knowledge of Venice offering advice on what to see and eat and yes "best gelato". We ate at a wonderful restaurant that he recommended that served one of the best meals that we had while touring Italy.Room was comfortable and quiet, Breakfast room was warm and cozy with a beautiful arrangement of flowers Breakfast consisted of fresh pastries from a nearby bakery, fruit and coffee, tea and juice. Alessandro and other guest's provided good conversation before we started our day. Thank you Alessandro!

It has all been said previously, Allesandro is an attentive host and a lovely man, good breakfast, spotless room, tea making facilities in your room. The only thing is the noise from above if you are on the first floor but other than that very good. Thanks Allesandro!!!

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms will be quieter

It was the week before the Bienalle opened and our usual Venice hotel was booked. We normally aren't B&B people, but Ca` Barba was well reviewed and available. We're very happy we stayed there. First, Alessandro, the proprietor, is first rate: a courtly Venetian attentive to our needs. Ca` Barba is well located, particularly for first-time travelers. Steps from the Rialto but totally quiet. Very good breakfast, a large clean room. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Note: If you book there, take Alessandro's advice and have him meet you at the vap stop. I'm a veteran Venice traveler who prides himself in knowing my way around, but Ca` Barba is down a side lane off other side lanes, and while I could have gotten us to w/in 50 yards of the place, I would have struggled to find the exact location. But once you're there, never fear: You're in very good hands.

Alessandro was a wonderful host and there to help you, any time of the day. He picked us up from the water front and guided us through our three day stay. The place is tiny ..cozy and warm..yes it not water facing , but a minute walk to the water front. Every morning Alessandro would serve us breakfast ..hot cappuccino..organic tea along with croissants , yogurt ,cheese and fruit.
Complimentary water and cold drinks all through the day.
No regrets on picking Ca'barba B&B !!

Perfect location in a small alley just off the Grand Canal, very close to Rialto Bridge and Rialto Mercato (market). The alley itself is not pretty (very narrow and a bit dark), but safe at all hours. The rooms were very well maintained, of decent size, and very clean. The B&B is small, with only 4 or so rooms. The breakfast room is small, with seating for 4. Breakfast is continental--yogurt, banana, pastry, coffee, juice. The owner, Alessandro, is very helpful and knowledgeable, and will meet you at the Vaporetto dock when you arrive. He serves breakfast and is accessible in person then and most of the rest of the time via text message, which he very quickly responds to. Room rates are competitive. There can be a bit of noise from the alley behind the hotel late at night as voices reverberate from people walking by.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely B & B! Alessandro was a wonderful host and extremely helpful. We would definitely stay at Ca'Barba on our next trip to Venice. The breakfast of fresh pastries, cheeses, fruit, was amazing.
