“delish!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

this restaurant was recommended by our hotel and was a good one! Our first clue was all the locals inside, it was lunch and there was everyone from construction workers to office workers!! Food was plentiful and good, wine recommendation was excellent! and the price was right!! Loved the local non touristy feel!!

“Lovely quiet restaurant apparently frequented by locals.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012 via mobile

Stumbled across this lovely family restaurant. Good food, good service, and the locals eat there - can't be bad. The Venetian seafood specialities on the à la cartè menu were very good.

“Lovely food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

varied menus - not too expensive for Venice...they did set meals that were reasonably priced but we dined al al carte. House wine good. Good ambiance too

“Local Cafe/Bistro”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We dined here on our first night in Venice, Sept 18, at the recommendation of our hotel. We found the food was above average and the service attentive. We particularly enjoyed the baked scallops. We had pre-dinner drinks of a beer and a sparkling wine, then a litre carafe of house red (very good) with bread, two entrees and two mains for $80 euro.

“Nice lunch in non-touristy trattoria”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

We found this place whilst looking for the leather shop opposite. Very busy with locals, many on their lunch break from work by the look of it. Very Italian and did not seem to have many tourists in when we visited around 1.30pm. We chose the set menu of €12 which was a little confusing as was just the one main meal of spaghetti with cuttlefish, calamari and a small salad. Very nice though (not huge portion but fine for us) the calamari was very fresh and probably one of the best I have ever had. Simply cooked but good quality food prepared well. The house white wine was delicious too and my daughter had the lovely Tiramisu dessert which was light and tasty and not overly rich. The bill which included some lovely breads, 2 mains, 1 dessert, bottle of sparkling water and 1/2 litre white wine was €44 plus a small tip. I would return next time I visit Venice .
