“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

Our family of four stayed for 2 nights originally booking a double & a twin room. Upon arrival the double room was upgraded to a junior suite which was beautiful. Rich carpets and furnishings and plenty of space. The twin room was pretty standard with marble floor with carpet mats. Both rooms had lovely clean bathrooms. It was raining when we arrived in Venice, so our map we had printed with instructions didn't last long.
We were picked up immediately by a local who offered to show us where to go, but ended up taking us the long way round - over 3 or 4 canal bridges instead of the 2 shown in our directions! He then put out his hand and wasn't happy with what we gave him... Once you know where the hotel is, it is easy to find.
We had breakfast in the cake shop at the first bridge both mornings, they open early at 6am.
A delightful stay in a wonderful city.

Ca Bragadin Venice

I will start off with the good things about this hotel, because it was a nice place to stay. The room we stayed in was large. We had a queen size bed and a pull out couch (though my friend said it was uncomfortable). There were huge windows that opened to small Juliette balconies. There was a table and 2 chairs in room, a desk a wardrobe and doors that closed off the bathroom area, if wanted. The bathroom was nice. The shower was a good size. There were nice toiletries provided. There was an old style hair dryer as well. The staff is there 24 hrs a day and they are helpful enough. There are motion censored lights in the hallways that turn off after 2 seconds if you don't keep moving (turned off at night constantly as we were trying to get to our room). You have to turn your key in each time you leave the hotel.

The negative things are mostly related to the location. It was near impossible to find. The maps of Venice are extremely hard to follow (and I am really good with maps and directions). It's kind of a game to just find your way along the way, no matter where you go. We ended up leaving the map and just asking people on the way. The other thing I did not like was that we were charged for breakfast but didn't get it bc we left too early the next morning to catch our flight home. They would not remove the breakfast fee.

Overall, I would recommend finding another place that is easier to find. This hotel wasn't close enough to any site to make it worth finding.

We stayed here for just 2 nights but wish it could have been longer! The hotel is tucked away in the streets of Venice, but with the printed map the hotel emailed we had no trouble finding it. Our room overlooked the square and we woke to the noises of the town coming to life, carts delivering food to the cafes, people chatting as they passed etc. The hotel is perfectly situated to explore St Marks Square, Rialto Bridge and wander the narrow streets filled with shops and restaurants. To see a less touristy part of Venice, cross Rialto Bridge and walk away from the gondolas and souvenir shops into the real Venice where the locals live.

We were really impressed with this hotel. The room was spacious, very clean and extremely well equipped. People were very friendly and helpful. It is in a very central location and the video guide to finding the hotel was brilliant. Just loaded onto the ipad and kept pausing. Easy.

The best restaurant was the Osteria Al Portego, just round the corner. Basic but full of locals. The food and service was great. We ate at the tables in the evenings and for one lunch stood at the bar with snacks. All good

All in all a great experience an we certainly would return. We have been to Venice twice before and this is the best hotel we've stayed at.
Highly recommended.

ps - don't use the restaurant Olandese Volante in Campo St Lio. The food was dreadful (Pizza like cardboard) and the most expensive we had. Service was poor as well. Man behind the bar watching TV which was turned up loud.

Room Tip: We had room 304 overlooking the Campo. It was excellent.

The inn was beyond our expectations. We would never have found it without the assistance of a porter ( well worth 15 euros) from the Rialto bridge vaperetti stop. The front desk staff was extremely accommodating. Room was clean, spacious & the windows opened to the plaza to take in the local scene. . Forget room service breakfast if you are from the U.S. Coffee is strong as mud.

Room Tip: Get the suite!

Stayed at this hotel Jan 2013 and found it comfortable and good value for price. The place may be difficult to find at first, but once you get there it is easy to remember how to get to it. The rooms are comfortable and good size. Heaters provide good warmth at night especially in winter. The staff there were excellent and very helpful. It is walking distance to Rialto bridge and close to restaurants.

Room Tip: What the youtube video for direction before you get to Venice. If you have many luggage consider hir...
