“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 night stay in venice.

Arrival- We paid 95 euro's for a private watertaxi which took us direct to santa marina square near the hotel. If you are going from the rialto do watch the youtube video on how to get to the hotel beforehand! It's a maximum 5 minute walk away the location is fantastic!

Check in- We arrived early at 12.30pm check in time is 2pm and they had the room ready for us which was great. The man at the desk was very friendly. You do have to walk up stairs to get up to the check in desk but this is common for hotels in venice and not a problem.

Room- we had a double room- very pleased with the size of the room- very pleasantly decorated. Modern bathroom. Only small niggle was the shower- although very powerful you couldn't change the direction of the nozzle but very minor complaint. My husband asked for another pillow and they were very happy to give us one. The room was spotles

We woke up at 5.30 to hear sirens alerting us of aqua alta. The hotel lent us some wellies which was a lovely touch and enabled us to make the most of the day despite the flooding.

The service was fantastic- on departure day they allowed us to leave out suitcase there.

We have stayed in many hotels over the years and this has to be up there with the best of them. It is only small with 10 rooms but they really make it a personal experience. Our Venice trip wasn't spoiled in any way by the aqua alta thanks to the hotel.

We would definitely return

Stayed here in November for one night and thought the hotel was fantastic...Staff were very friendly, breakfast buffet was amazing...lots of choices. Hotel was a reasonable price and we were given the main suite as a bonus as it was available when we checked in, room was gorgeous and very clean including bathroom with fancy shower. Mini bar well stocked and bed really comfortable. Hotel is tucked away in a little alley but watch the video directions on YouTube, write them down and you will find the place no problem. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

We stayed here a few weeks ago for 3 nights after 3 weeks of travel through Europe. And it was just the perfect place to end a long trip. I emailed the hotel to get directions and was sent directions and a youtube link. It was amazing! Venice is not easy to navigate, but this youtube video made it super easy to find! The location was perfect, less that 10 minutes to the Rialto bridge so easy to pop back to the hotel anytime. The staff was super friendly and helpful too. The room was surpisingly spacious and so was the bathroom. They also have contiental breakfast for 5 euros room service style which was a perfect way to start each morning. I booked on Expedia and the value was excellent, especially on a budget after a long trip and also since Venice is expensive. I would definielty stay here again if I return to Venice.

This hotel was a great surprise ! We stayed in August 2012 for a few nights. Arriving in Venice by train and not knowing where the hotel was located among all the canals we opted to walk to the hotel. Not to self, next time take the water taxi to Rialto Bridge. The walk to the hotel is maybe 5-7 minutes.

Since Rialto is one of biggest tourist attractions there are hoards of people, but just a few minutes away you turn a corner and are welcomed into a quiet calm piazza where the hotel is located.

The hotel is located in a small passage way and hard to find, there is no sign. but once inside the door to the 'villa' you will find a hidden treasure. The 24 hour staff is excellent, very very helpful, English is not a problem. One of the staff also spoke French.

There is an upscale restaurant in the piazza just near the passageway where the hotel is located. In the same passageway , as the hotel, is a trattoria where you can have a drink before or after dinner or stay a few hours ! . A few yards from the hotel, is another piazza where you can find an outdoor cafe to enjoy a drink under the stars.

The rooms are a good size, clean and well appointed. Since the hotel is located in a Venetian passageway, the room was a bit dark, no sunlight. The bathrooms are nicely done, smallish but had a separate room where the sink was located. The toilet, bidet and shower were located in another room.

We opted to pay for the buffer breakfast one morning and found it excellent and worth the money. The cheese and ham were painstakingly arranged like a work of art.

The hotel is well within walking distance to all of Venice ! I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again !

Belated review stayed in Nov' 11

Fantissimo! My wife and I arrived by car in Venice a little late from the Dolimite's and having never been in Venice before asked a policeman, the boat taxi ticket sales clerk and the ticket taker on the taxi for directions to this Hotel. They all to the last advised we go to the the second to last stop on The San Marco Canal. Not good. My wife having had polio when a child has a very bad right leg and having been on a cruise in the Med a week before we had far to much luggage. We arrived lugging 4 bags (1 very lg, 1 med. 2 smaller and a medical bag though Venice over the many bridges back to the hotel, on arriving home I was diagnosed with two hernias r and l. The manager stayed till our late arrival and upon hearing our who-some tail and seeing our dismay over this dreadful start to our visit upgraded us to a palace suite no extra charge since it was available, very lg room, bed and modern bath. Our original room would have been great as well but to have such luxurious accommodations was heaven sent. I was redeemed in the eyes of my bride of 38 years for whom I was there to celebrate our anniversary with thanks to the graciousness of the Ca' Bragadin Carabba staff. And yes she did her Juliet imitation from the rooms balcony to me below in the piazza. Never to old for fun.

Location perfectly situated to all attractions or means to get to them.

Breakfast offered but not utilized since it seemed far more enticing to explore and find something in the area. Plus additional cost. Here a little plagiarism- The hotel is just off the Campo Santa Marina. The Rialto is about a 10-minute walk, and is also the closest Vaporetto stop for the Grand Canal. St. Mark's square is about a 15-minute walk with other interesting neighborhoods and sites nearby. There are a number of expresso cafés and restaurants nearby.

Would go to Venice again just to stay again at this hotel.

Very reasonably priced no one price for Americans and another for Europeans as we unfortunately discovered using google.italy versus google.usa as a search engine at another hotel in Venice. Whose accommodations were only superior or even equal in that we had a canal view.

Room Tip: Little hard to find. Stay in contact with hotel for directions as you go.

This was an unexpected and great surprise hotel in the middle of Venice. We didn't watch the youtube video, but we followed the map and found it perfectly. The room and bathroom were both huge. An added plus was the cable tv (but you had to pay for internet). We chose not to pay for the breakfast because it didn't seem like it was that great.

It was a great location and really close to Rialto Bridge.

The rooms were very clean and updated. The beds were very comfortable. The attached bath was perfect and the overhead hot shower was great after a day of being constantly on the move. The location is very central to anywhere needed to go by either water bus or walking. It was not very hard to find from the Rialto Bridge. We were told how far everything was and long walks but we found that walking was the best way unless travel to Murano was on the agenda. No laundry but a laundromat was very accessible.
The staff was very helpful. There is someone in person 24 hours in this small Inn which is nice. No problems communicating as well in English.
