“Our Favorite Venice Pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

We signed up for a pub crawl through the streets of Venice and had a great time. Our last stop was Osteria alla ciurma. It was described as a quaint pub where fisherman would come as well as the local community after a days work. We really liked the atmosphere and the wine and pupu's were great. We decided to go back the next day and after some searching we were able to find it again. When we arrived the door was locked and we were really disappointed. We started to leave and the door opened and Marco greeted us in a friendly Italian way. He explained he was cleaning up after a big group that had just come through and invited us in. He treated us as if were were long lost friends and we enjoyed great Italian Malbec wine as well as a large assortment of Italian appetisers. The wine, food and company were awesome. We would recommend this establishment to anyone traveling to Venice. What a grat way to experience the local flavor and hospitality.

“Tricky to find but well worth the effort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

This is a splendid tiny wine shop, with (cramped) seating for about 8 people at tables, a few stools and counters and an outside counter, it is easy to miss, located down a narrow alleyway with faded script on a painted sign on a boat. It is about 2 blocks from the Rialto bridge just off Ruga vecchia San Giovani.
The have about 8 local wines at hand, we tried 3 different whites at lunch time all were good and at under 3 E a glass amazing value. We assembled a lunch of the snacks were excellent, especially the lardo (think sweeter bacon) wrapped prawns and the squash blossom but everything we tried was homemade, fresh, typical and authentic. 3 glasses of wine and about 10 assorted snacks came to about 25E and left us pleasantly stuffed. We were lucky enough to get a table.

The crowd at mid day was an even mix of locals and trip advisor readers all satisfied and of good cheer.

“Lovely cichetti and wine bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

We visited this wine and cichetti bar as part of a group with Venice Urban Adventures tour. The owners Marco and Ana Paula were very friendly, the wine was excellent and the cichetti were divine. The atmosphere is very cosy. It is located off the beaten track near Rialto and is well worth a visit.

“Excellent fish, wine and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

This is well worth a visit. It had a lively atmosphere with a nice mix of locals and tourists - the choice of wine was most impressive as were the fish cicchetti. Very impressed with the freshness of the salmon, squid and sardines. The staff were very friendly and could speak some English - we had the impression that they were trying really hard to build their business. Excellent value Location - go from Rialto, turn into Rue S Giovanni and look right, its not very far from the junction up a very small street

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Wonderful little cichetti and wine/spritz, friendly atmosphere, very helpful stuff, we went there twice during our stay in Venice, the second time was because of a dreadful experience at another restaurant the previous night: we needed to restore our belief in humankind. The belief was restored! ))
