“Great restaurant in Venice at a great price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

We had their fish-based dinner and it was extraordinary: outstanding starters including a delicious seabass, then excellent fried seafood, a very good desert all accompanied by a very good house wine and grappa and ... The service was excellent too. For all of this we paid 30 euros per person. I would recommend it to everyone.

“A very interesting place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

When you call to book, you might find them strange. May be they are and that is why it. Is interesting. Unfortunately couldn't taste the fish menu they had since we only could make it for lunch. Food was good, sitting out on top of the canal excellent. Out of the buzz of the city.

“Fun place with amazing food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

We found this place by getting lost from the train station to our hotel. What luck!! Turned out to be the best meal we had in Venice! Not only was it the best food we had during our stay but also the most affordable. Everyone was very friendly and seemed genuinely grateful we had chosen to dine at their restaurant.

“A place to recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

I first dined here first maybe 6 years go. The owner of a little flat we rented recommended Da Marisa. First night we we tried but we couldn't get in. Second time lucky- booking helps. We were the only non locals and we had the best evening. It was a little confusing. We weren't sure what was coming next. The only questions asked were "red or white?" "still or sparkling". Food was amazing and the theatre of local activity kept us entertained especially on a rainy night when everyone was greeted like family with a dry tshirt!
Since then I've recommended the restaurant and my friends and family have been back there around 6-8 times. Everyone loved it. Tonight I found myself recommending it again to a friend and this time provided the TA link.
A local gem. Not flash decor but heaps of authenticity.

“A great local place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

This was just over the canal from where we were staying. It's a place that operates to its own programme. We wandered over on the off-chance and got lucky and got what turned out to be the last otable, it was Friday night and the place was packed. We were told that "tonight we are serving a fish menu" to which we said ok and ordered some water and wine, it's house wine and is differentiated by colour and quantity and is perfectly good. After that we just sat there as dish after dish rolled out. First we were served flaked fish in a sauce with polenta and two baby octopuses in a red sauce. This was followed by a dish of bacalao quickly followed by fish lasagne. Next came a dish of fried fish, we asked for one portion between two which turned out to be very wise, and concluded with a ricotta desert and coffee. You can tell the tourists as they ask for a bill and most of the place was filled with locals. I don't know if this is what happens every night or just weekends, other nights you maybe can order separately, but go there with a good appetite just in case. The food was lovely, especially the octopus, the ambience perfect and the cost was €35 per head. There are two other restaurants on that side of the canal and this one is furthest along just beyond the Tre Archi bridge. Wonderful.
