It's not often that you find such a friendly, welcoming place thousands of miles from home - but that's what you get at Bacaro. Bacaro is a tiny little bar just off Saint Mark's Square near a number of restaurants. My wife and I stopped for a glass of wine before dinner and didn't want to leave. The bartender/owner was fun, friendly and gave great service. There was a great selection of local wines at affordable prices, and what surprised me most was Sierra Nevada beer on tap. Turns out the owner is a big fan of Sierra Nevada and is planning a trip to California to visit the brewery. We enjoyed sampling the cicchetti, chatting with people-both locals and from all over the world and stayed much longer than we anticipated. If you are lucky enough to find yourself in Venice you must stop at Bacaro.
