Situated on the water, the Riviera has dreamy views of San Girogio Maggiore, Giudecca Island and sunsets. The menu, primarily seafood, is beautifully prepared. And diners may choose from a range of preparations. We chose Speck, grilled with vegetables, and Sea Bass, baked in salt. We particularly loved that the fish were presented before cooking, so that we could make a selection. The fish are presented yet again, once they’ve cooked, in pans straight off the stove. Beautiful service!
Desserts and side dishes are excellent. The wine list consisted of mostly Veneto varietals, but quite an impressive selection within that range. Meeting the restaurant's owner, G.P. Cremonini, was a special treat. A former musician, he is a charming conversationalist and works to ensure that all his guests are treated superbly. The Riviera is tiny and fills up quickly, so be sure to make reservations as early as possible.
