Quadri used to be a stiff, boring classical Venice location.
Then the Alajmo brothers came and turned it to a fully deserved two-Michelin-stars venue.
We had the chance to be attended personally and very friendly by Raffaele, the company manager, who introduced us to his variant of the Bloody Mary - his "Bloody Raf" simply made of freshly squeezed cherry tomatoes, olive oil and vodka. Had the food been bad, the Bloody Raf alone would have been a good reason to dine there. But it was all but bad: among other brilliant tastings and dishes (oooh, that lamb!), the mezzi paccheri with raw prawns and tomato sauce were heavenly and absolutely perfect - probably the best dish we had in a trip where we visited an excessive amount of starred venues in Italy, and that means the paccheri were even better than some of the Pergola or Pinchiorri creations.
Oh, and you also get a night view on San Marco square. But at that point, after paccheri and bloody raf, you would be happy even if you were staring at Porto Marghera oil refineries.
