Hotel Sant'Elena is housed in a converted convent building in the beautiful and peafecul neighborhood of Sant'Elena, a stone's throw and beautiful walk or short vaporetto ride from St. Mark's Square. The hotel is also just one vaporetto stop from Lido and because there are two vaporetto stops near the hotel (Sant'Elena is around the corner and Giardini Biennale is about 3 minutes further on foot) you can get just about anywhere in the city pretty easily. The neighborhood itself is very quiet with a few small cafes where locals meet to drink, eat and dance in the evenings and a lovely church which is just over a bridge from the hotel.
The hotel building itself is quite beautiful and very well maintained and updated. The rooms are gorgeous and pictures don't quite do justice to how clean and well-kept they are. The furnishings are modern and tasteful with neutral fabrics and dark woods throughout. The bathroom was also very modern and well-furnished but with one problem, the glass on the tub did not provide adequate splash control and the floor tended to get quite wet. Wi-Fi access was present in our room and in all common areas.
The hotel restaurant provided a delicious breakfast with hot and plenty of hot and cold options and excellent coffees to keep anyone happy and fueled up for a day of sight-seeing. We did not eat there for dinner but heard it was...Hotel Sant'Elena is housed in a converted convent building in the beautiful and peafecul neighborhood of Sant'Elena, a stone's throw and beautiful walk or short vaporetto ride from St. Mark's Square. We did not eat there for dinner but heard it was quite good from others staying in the hotel. The dining room was very clean and modern and kept with the same aesthetic as the rest of the hotel. There is a lovely courtyard off the dining room with plenty of loungers, tables, chairs etc so you can take your breakfast outside or just relax with a book for a while.
The staff was efficient, thorough and accommodating.More
