“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

My wife and I are staying at the Ruzzini Palace for several days before going to Florence. It has been an extraordinary experience. We don't want to leave. Venice is a wonderful city with new discoveries every day. It has been even more so because of this exceptional hotel. We have never felt so at home while traveling. The accommodations are beyond our wildest expectations and the staff could not have been more gracious and helpful.
It is ideally situated in the heart of the city.

Room Tip: We took a private taxi to the hotel. It took us directly to the hotel. We met several travelers who...

The hotel is in a wonderful location, close to the Rialto and Piazza San Marco. And it is right on the wonderful Campo Santa Maria Formosa, where ordinary Venetians come to eat, drink, converse, watch their children and dogs play, or just go through their daily routines. We enjoyed having a beautiful hotel in a convenient location that wasn't totally overwhelmed by the tourist hordes all hours of the day and evening. Our room overlooked the campo, and was lovely - and pretty large. The staff was quite helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate - just don't go for the eggs, they weren't very good. You won't miss them. One other thing - splurge for the water taxi to the back door - unless you just have an overnight bag, it's not worth dragging your luggage over the various small bridges to get to the hotel.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room facing the Campo rather than the small canal in back, but that's a person...

We arrived this morning tired after our 12 hour overnight train ride from Vienna. We were offered coffee while we waited for our room which was unexpectedly(and gratefully ) prepared early for us. WE were upgraded and have a beautiful large room overlooking the square. It is so lovely. Te staff are extremely helpful and kind and it has been a wonderful welcome to Venice.
We have managed to find our way to a recommended restaurant and the main tourist area without getting too lost. The location is excellent.

Excellent location. Short walk to St Marks Square and Rialto Bridge - although you may never take the same route twice! Lots of inexpensive places to eat in the backstreets if you walk in any direction. Hotel is located on a very large square with a canal at the back of the hotel. Water taxis will take you right up to the reception of the hotel, a great bonus in Venice.
We stayed in room 105, which was a deluxe room. It was very clean and well furnished. The bathroom was very modern, the bed was very comfortable. There were lots of little extras in the bathroom, we were also able to make our own tea and coffee, which is not always available in Europe. Window of bedroom opened up onto the canal which was excellent. You did here the sound of the motor boats going past sometimes early in the morning, but this did not bother us. Other than that the room was very quiet. Breakfast selection was very good and the breakfast room was very modern. Staff were attentive. Reception staff were excellent. Very helpful with maps and directions and recommendations. We highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 105 was excellent.

It's a big part of your holiday when you book a hotel. It has to meet all your expectations and the Ruzzini Palace certainly did for me!

We stayed here Tuesday 24th September to Friday 27th September 2013
So glad concierge arranged our transfers for us, we sat back and relaxed as soon as we got off the plane. A short taxi journey took us to our taxi boat. It was like something out of James Bond(only better looking!!!)

We were met with a warm welcome.

We were in room 306 stunning room and more than happy with it.

Breakfast was yummy and kept us full all day.

Thank you Simon and all the members of:concierge, cleaners, bar staff and the breakfast lady. We were made to feel welcome, you were all so friendly, helpful and this is so rare these days.

Our lovely time in Venice was extra special. Any questions you have don't hesitate to ask. Nothing is a problem for the Ruzzini Palace.

The location is perfect and walking distance from everything!

I would certainly recommend Ruzzini Palace

We loved our stay at the Ruzzini. The staff were extraordinarlily helpful in answering questions and arranging things such as water taxis, trips to Murano, etc. We had a beautiful room which was quite large for Venice. We liked our view of the canal and enjoyed quiet evenings. The hotel is close to everything but nicely located away from the super touristy areas so that it has less tourist noise and crowds. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We will definitely be back.

Downsides: thin walls/ceilings (hard to find any place in Venice without this problem) and shower was difficult to use but if you want a great soak, the bath was lovely.

Dear Guest,
Many thanks for your kind review and your time spent to leave your opinion of your recent stay with us. In fact walls are not thin in most of Venetian palaces...is mostly the building materials used nearly 500 years ago are a bit different from the one used now...in any case after the big opening/restoration 5 years ago we got a very good combination. Wishing you’ll be back with us...kind regards!

Stayed at The Ruzzini Palace on a short break last weekend. Hotel was really ideal for our visit.
It's own landing stage from private water taxi, very convenient.
Helpful and efficient staff. Our room on top floor a little small but modern and very well equipped.
The hotel is in an ideal location in the city, only 5minutes walk from St. Marc's but far enough away on a fairly quite and attractive square. Our first visit to Venice and delighted with our choice of hotel. Recommend a visit to Venice and a stay at the Ruzzini Palace.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors could be smaller

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your kind review, we are very happy that your short break in Venice has been nice! As far as room size is depending on the room category chosen, not on the level. Last floor rooms are mostly modern style and they are standard or deluxe...wishing you’ll be back in our Ruzzini Palace....kind regards!
