“Hotel within easy reach of everything”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

My wife and I spent two nights at the Patavium in July, and we were both delighted with what it offered. We received a fine welcome at reception and were directed our room on the first floor, via the lift. The hotel is modern and well appointed, with spacious rooms and en suite facilities, including jacuzzi bath.....the room charges were very reasonable too.

Breakfast was available from a generous buffet table, and taken either inside at a large table or outside on the terrace. The hotel has no restaurant, so dinners require to be taken elsewhere.

The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient, and we enjoyed walking to the places of interest in this truly beautiful city.....well worth a visit!

I was worried about the location of this hotel based on other reviews here, but no need. Padua is small and the short, interesting walk to the centre of town was no problem. Rooms very comfortable and modern here & bathrooms exceptional! breakfast staff were a little reluctant & didn't seem impressed if you arrived after 10 but staff on the whole were helpful. In fact, if staff had looked a little smarter this could easily have been a 4 star! A good hotel.

Big, clean, new rooms. Great bathroom with jacuzzi. Loved the breakfast and the fact that you can rent bikes.
The only thing I did not like was the TV and remote control... which I find great if you are on holidays.

I stayed there for one night during a business visit,

It is a small, quiet, very nicely decorated Hotel at Padova. The pricing is very fair.

Rooms are very satisfactory and the Breakfast room stylish.

It is a logical priced hotel for a short visit at Padova. I could go there again if needed.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. We cannot recommend it for one important reason and several minor points. Their hot water system requires that in the morning you let the water run at full force (all three taps--bidet, sink and shower) for anywhere from 7 to 22 minutes before you get hot water. The same problem exists in the afternoon/evening although the time one must waste water is a bit shorter. I am not a 'green supporter' but wasting hundreds of gallons of good water is a crime in this day and age. Surely something can be done to improve the system. The less important problems include the apparent lack of sound insulation in the hotel. We had a room at the back so we did not hear street noises. However we could hear people in the corridor and people in the rooms next to us and above us. This is annoying at 9 PM (2100) but terrible at 3 AM (0300). Third, the manager (owner?) does not have the personality to be in a job where he must deal with the public. From the moment we entered the hotel, before we even said anything, he appeared to take a dislike to us. We have no idea why. During our whole week stay we did not see him smile once. The young women who manned the desk in the evenings were perfectly friendly. The gentleman who worked on the night shift was also fine. Fourth, the hotel is a bit out of the center--of the old or new parts of town. Both could be reached in 15 to 20 minutes on foot or by the number 9 bus that stopped across the street (it's posted schedule bore little relation to reality).

The rooms were fine--larger than many in Italy--and had all the modern conveneinces one expects except facial tissues and wash cloths (flannels). The bathroom was also large with heated towel racks. Our room had a large shower but no tub. Breakfast was adequate, if unchanging during our stay. Having one table that seats 12 was fine for the off season, but what happens when the hotel is fully booked?

Were it not for the problems I could rate this hotel a bit higher. As it is I cannot recommend it.

Rooms quiet and well equipped, modern furnishings and a semi luxury feel.
Secure parking nearby a bonus.
Padua is a town with some nice parts and monuments but takes some getting to know.
Well located for day trip to Venice.

Half way between station and centre of Padua (20mins walk each way). A small deli very close but only one (expensive) restaurant within 20mins walk. Very quiet clean and neat hotel with free WiFi. Would stay there again next time and put up with the walking. Arranged for us to have breakfast early so we could catch a train. Nice garden to eat breakfast in. Good library of illustrated books on Padua. There is so much to see in Padua that three full days were not enough

Dear Guest,
we are delighted about your good opinion of our hotel. It's important for us.
By the way we have to specify that our hotel is in Padua historical walls, so we are in city centre and 10 minutes far from the heart of the city. For restaurants instead you have various choises near the hotel at 2, 5 or 10 minutes walking. Next time you could ask the staff and they will be able to suggest where to go.
Hope to have you soon as our loved guest.
