“a little pearl”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2012

The atmosphere is really delightful, almost taking you back in time to the period before the Second World War - the music, the candlelight and the decor all in harmony. But it is definitely neither elegant nor sophisticated. - more "Osteria" with Bohemian touches. The service may be a little rough around the edges but it has its own particular charm (not to be interpreted as rudeness). But the real strong points are the quality of the food (excellent) and the prices (very honest). We paid about Euro 25 for starter, main course, dessert, coffee, water and wine. Salumi, salads, "baccalà" and desserts were all memorable.

“An hidden restaurant in Padova City centre.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

Went there with a couple of friend for dinner.
Fantastic atmosphere with a piano concert, food excellent and good service.
The restaurant was quite empty in a cold Thursday night but we had a great time there.
Go there!

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2010

We visited this wonderful trattoria having read the write ups on Trip Advisor. It exceeded all our expectations with a wonderful slightly eccentric look, amazingly friendly and helpful staff and unbelieveable food. The waitress was adorable patiently explaining the handwritten Italian menu which my limited Italian didn't stretch to. Everything is beautifully and simply cooked but uses fresh ingredients and huge imagination combining flavours. We will certainly return on our next visit to Padova as this was one the best meals we have had.

“A Padua regular, I just found this. Don't you wait.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2010

We have been fortunate enough to be able to spend three weeks on business in Padua this year and last (and it looks like indefinitely). I went to Trip Advisor to check out restaurants we didn't visit last year or that were not recommended in our travel book. Thank you Trip Advisor and the reviewers, especially the young man from Dublin who wrote the last review. This restaurant is simply wonderful. Our waitress spoke excellent English (and she was all of 15, maybe), the food was superb (I had four courses; my wife had three). The house wines were very, very good (the Prosecco was especially good). All for 58 Euros. Unbelievable. The menu pretty much changes daily, so in this season, we had two different antipasti of pumpkin (one with sardines!!!!). I'm not a bad cook myself, so I know whereof I speak. Go, go, go. You'll love it.

“excellent food and good value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2009

I picked the restaurant based on the reports on the trip advisor web site and I wasn't disapppointed. The menu was in Italian and the waiter translated everything enthusiastically and patiently. His recommendation for red wine was spot on. The place was full of locals which is always a good sign.
