“Lovely room, super helpful staff, great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

A welcome reprieve from our trekking day on the TMB. note that if you are walking the TMB, you need to get a bus here, as it is about four km from the town centre. It is easy to do so. The tourist office is where you will arrive. Next door is the bus place, where you can buy bus tickets (two euro return) and get the timetable. The bus runs every half hour and it takes about ten minutes travel time.

The room was spotlessly clean, and perfectly adequate for our needs. Breakfast was fine. Fresh pastries, bread, cheese, yogurt, cereals and more. Juice and choice of hot beverage.

But for us, best of all was the complimentary laundry service, which we were MOST grateful for after four days of hiking! It was just such a nice touch. Would definitely recommend this place as a base in Courmayeur.

An open and warm atmosphere, simple room, good breakfast. An excellent location to visit the Mont Blanc.
It's important to keep the comment short and focused, so 200 words is to fill it up.
And to do it again to get the 200 words that doesn't contribute Nottingham at all.

This was a real surprise. We were really pleased with the cleanliness, hospitality and the breakfast was superb. Location pretty well perfect. My kids were blown away by the views of Mont Blanc. You are nestled right at the bottom of it. Sara and Francesca were very helpful - nothing was a bother - so big thanks to them....Angus Cartwright, Scotland

A little gem , perfect for families or couples, a family run hotel with 13 rooms.
We are a family of 4, kids aged 8&5, we asked for a family room but were give 2 separate rooms with inter connecting doors which was great.

Rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable, bathroom was a good size and again very clean and welcoming.

All the staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
If you are looking for a cosy, clean and friendly hotel for a ski break them you won't be dissappinted.

The hotel has an arrangement with a local ski shop and you get a discount on your ski hire, also the hire shop will pick you up and drop you off from hotel.

We spent a week here in March 2013 and would recommend Dente del Gigante to anyone.
On arrival, Sara and Francesca gave us a wonderfully warm welcome, helped us with our luggage and settled us into room 22 which has beautiful mountain views, a balcony, Wifi and plenty of space. Before going out for dinner that evening, we sampled some excellent local wine served with salami, cheese, etc. by the log fire in the salon.
The following day we had excellent skiing but in the afternoon I had a fall. After 6 hours in the hospital in Aosta having X-rays, etc, I was told I had cracked my pelvis and must have 30 days "bed rest". I was gutted by this however, during the next six days in bed in this hotel the care I received from Sara and team was second to none. The next-door restaurant provided delicious meals to order and when our two daughters + partner joined us for the weekend, extra tables, beautiful china and glassware were brought up to our room so that we could all eat together - by candlelight, no less! Rosa (who cleans) kindly did our laundry before we left and when we drove off it was like parting from family! THANK YOU and we hope to be back.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderfully quiet. Our room 22 had more space and mountain views..

We stayed here for 5 nights in early March. This is a family run hotel located 5km from centre of Courmayeur in quiet hamlet La Palud. Val Veny ski-lift which will bring you up to the slopes is 1km away from the hotel but it is a very steep road to the hotel so you should take a bus for your return (there is a bus stop near the hotel). There is also Funivie Monte Bianco lift very close to the hotel but it is only for sightseeing and off-piste. There is a very good cross-country track in Planpincieux 2km uphill from the hotel. Everywhere you can get on a bus but check the timetable before. Hotel is not far away from the main road.

Hotel is very cozy and beuatiful with big alpine-style living-room with fireplace. Rooms are good and clean, though not very spacy. Our's had a big balcony and Mont-Blanc view which was a little spoiled by a crane on the construction site of some hotel. When we arrived on Sunday hotel was full and it was very noisy. We could hear everything that was happening in some room nearby. But during weekdays it was pretty quiet. There is a place for skis and snowboards but no special dryer. Though the staff offered us to give them anything that we need to dry.

Breakfast consisted of some cheeses and sausages, yoghurts, muesli, and a lot of fresh pastries including very tasty pies.

All the staff was super nice, attentive and helpful. They offered us a lift with their own car to a cross-country piste and when one member of our group got hurt there they drove her to the hospital.

Overall I would say that for it's price the hotel is excellent. Just keep location in mind when booking.

We stayed in this hotel at the beginning of February 2013 for 3 nights for a short family skiing holiday - perfect! It is in La Palud which is about 5 minutes drive to Courmayeur centre but there is a free shuttle (ask for a timetable at reception)or the very kind staff will drop you down and collect you - incredible service! Everyone was super nice, great breakfast and we were delighted that although we booked a family room, we actually got 2 spacious interconnecting rooms with 2 bathrooms so we weren't all tripping over each other (2 adults and 2 kids). everthing that you need for a good skiing holiday was there - hot showers in clean fairly big bathrooms, comfortable beds with lovely bedlinen, tv that works and a lovely view of Mont Blanc.
This family run hotel has got it right - helpful smiling staff, pleasant atmosphere, good service and comfortable clean accommodation.
We shall definitely stay there again - a few nice places to eat in La Palud but its worth the evening trip to Courmayuer for the atmosphere and apres ski fun - although if you have a 5 year old, as we do, all you really want is an early dinner and an early night ! this hotel is a 3 star with 5 star service and 5 star customer experience - well done!
