We stopped at Lago Ledro on our way from Trento to Lago Garda. The lake is gorgeous with its crystal clear, blue-green waters and mountain backdrops. We would have liked to do some hiking in the area but our primary goal was the small but fascinating Museo dell Palafitte at Molina. It was interesting to learn about how the piles were found and to see the reconstruction of the pile dwlelling structures in the location where they would have been. It still remains a mystery why they built their village on stilts in the marshy land where the river enters the lake. Protection maybe?
