“Nice hotel in the historic heart of Bolzano”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Nice hotel in the historic heart of Bolzano, with discounted / easy access to the public parking space directly across the street. Our room was beautiful, quiet and very spacious, with a big bathroom, and with a nice view overlooking the park. The hotel restaurant was good, but the bar is the real star at this hotel with a beautiful traditional / contemporary design mix, a lovely terrace and an amazing outdoors lounge (summer only, I assume), set in the beautiful hotel park, this is as hip and trendy as a hotel bar / outdoors lounge gets, anywhere in the world. We missed a doorman and a concierge at this hotel, especially given that the reception staff was neither welcoming nor particularly helpful. But aside from reception, we really liked this hotel, and if we ever return to Bolzano, we will definitely consider staying here again… PS: There is a unique and rather weird problem with regard to the closets in the room (or maybe only the closet in our room), and it is, that they don’t have a standard rod for clothes hangers, which means that you can only use their integrated hangers for your clothes, and if you (like me) travel with your clothes already on hangers, this is a big pain and very time consuming.

Just a wonderful experience with every comfort in a hotel true to its traditional old world style throughout. Wonderful extensive breakfast in a gorgeous setting with seating either inside or on the front terrace. I would go back just for the fresh-baked nut cake with mountain currant filling. The public areas and the bar, as well as the rooms, are works of art in themselves. The gardens and the pool area are very beautiful and relaxing. We especially enjoyed a snack and drink at the terrace tables overlooking the park in the evening. The hotel is very convenient to the train station, the central area stores and restaurants, Walther Square and the lift to Ritten. Can't wait to go back!

The hotel staff and facilities are all top-notch. Rooms are clean, relatively large and with high ceilings and large, operable windows that increase the sense of space. Breakfast, included with most rooms, is varied, delicious and plentiful. The front desk staff are friendly and switch seamlessly from German, to Italian to English. The hotel is one block from the train station and ideally located to wander historic Bolzano's cobble-stoned streets, cafes, and eateries. The outside garden and bar area is perfect for reading an afternoon book in the sun or for a final nightcap with friends.

Room Tip: Select rooms on the courtyard side to diminish street noise. Store your bags at the front desk for a...

This hotel is centrally located and very well maintained. On arrival the staff were friendly, welcoming and informative. Our room was spacious and clean and had wonderful artwork; the view of the alps and cable car from our window was fantastic. The hotel facilities were excellent, there was a park-like area at the rear with lovely established trees and shrubbery that offered shade from the hot sun; there was a bar with a seating area and a pool with sun lounges for relaxation. An outdoor restaurant was also in this area under a shade cloth and it was a perfect location to enjoy a meal on a balmy night. The food did not disappoint either. The breakfast buffet was extensive with fresh orange juice on offer. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a superb hotel in all respects, a true four-star or better. A few examples: The bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a double door with a hall, so one is not awakened at night if one's companion uses the toilet. The rooms are very large. The elevator has seats. There is parking in the hotel lot across the street. The windows can be completely darkened at night.

really friendly staff, beautiful clean decor and incredible gardens to relax in.Ideal base to explore the old town and food choice, especially breakfast, was perfect. Highly recommend this hotel. As someone travelling alone, this hotel offered a comfortable and relaxing base. There were many spaces in the gardens to enjoy the peaceful surroundings or to swim in the pool. Sun loungers were readily available and towels supplied at the poolside. Will definately return to enjoy!

Room Tip: very bright rooms to front but have shutters to darken if necessary. They are double glass so no noi...

A 4 star hotel that actually lives up to its billing. Great location in the old town of Bolzano, magnificent garden, bar and restaurant, and the best breakfast in Italy. Beautiful bathrooms, comfortable beds and wifi that works. Superbly competent staff and art works that decorate the rooms add a touch of class that complete a great hotel experience.
