Fully recommended and 5 stars for cleaning standards. This place, is perfectly located in the very center of Bolzano. The staff is very friendly, and the room are perfectly clean in all details.
I travel quite much so I care of particulars which are often forgotten. Here all was perfectly clean

We stayed one night in mid October. We chose Kolpinghaus Bolzano because of its accessibility to the historic area, good parking and reasonable price. We love to be within walking distance of the historic towns in the evening and It was a perfect choice.. It wasn’t difficult to find the hotel from the highway and fortunately we stopped on Via Carducci just before we arrived at the hotel so we were in a perfect position to enter their parking garage. We could not have turned right onto Kolping as the google maps indicated because it is limited access. It was too early for check in (10:30) but we were able to park in their garage (13 euros but less than the public garages), The hotel is located right on the edge of the historic section - much closer than we anticipated. It's very basic - a dorm like room as shown in the photos- but very clean and well maintained. Breakfast is cafeteria style - brings back memories of university life. You don't get much for your money but compared to other choices it's a good deal and a different lodging experience. There is an elevator. Wifi in the public area. Great location.

We stayed one night in September on our way to hiking the Dolomites. Located in the center of town in a quiet area. Twin size beds placed head-to-foot a bit odd, but comfortable. No air conditioning in the double rooms and it happened to be in the 80's while we were there. Opened the window, but the room was pretty warm. The whole place was very clean and sterile. Friendly reception staff helped us find transportation and gave us restaurant recommendations. Complimentary breakfast in a cafeteria setting. Friendly cafeteria help, but didn't speak English. Tried my Italian and we managed to get steaming hot café lattes. Offerings included yogurt, breads/rolls, cheeses and meats. They have services for bicyclists and parking if you need it. Really handy to the train station and bus to Castlerotto. There is also a nice garden courtyard.

Stayed here one night in Bolzano this month. The room was a bit like a dormitory but had lovely wooden furniture lovely bedding, lovely shower and was comfortable. The underground car park was also a bonus. Right on the centre of Bolzano too. Wasn't set out like a traditional hotel but overall it was a great stay

Overpriced hotel in poor state. Shower did not function properly, beds were to small. Not even worth half of the price we paid. Take this advice to heart, get a better hotel a bit further out of the city center and spent some euro's on a taxi. With current rates, it will still be the best and cheapest option.

Although often called a hostel, it turned out to be a hotel with professional services and design. The room was perfect by size, space, and modern furniture. The hotel is right in the center of Bolzano and still quiet. The building is in great shape, the reception worked perfectly, all is very clean, and there is not the slightest reason for complaints. The breakfast buffet is good and the staff very helpful.

Room Tip: 5. floor to the inner court. Nice views to the Alps, quiet.

Although the Kolpinghaus prides itself as a retreat center with a religious "bent" it seemed when we were there several people did ot live up to the sugggestions for quiet times, and respect of others. The quiet garden was not quiet Rooms are arranged like college dormitories and breakfast is not so good. We paid a lot for a little. Oh, and expect to pay an extra city tax that is not mentioned beforehand.

Room Tip: Look around before you choose this place.
