Having read some of the more negative reviews, I think it's important to understand what Papille offers. Firstly, it is not easy to find good food in Turin...many restaurants are overpriced and serve mediocre food.
At Papille it is not cheap (but not that expensive either, particularly if you order the house wine, which is good) but the food is traditional Piemontese both in quality and portion size. The menu is very small (the choice of 2 starters, 2 primi and 2 secondi and a vegetarian alternative) and changes regularly. You have to accept before going there that you may have to order something which may not have otherwise been a first choice. This has happened to me on more than one occassion and I have always been very happy and pleasantly surprised.
The atmosphere is friendly and the surroundings very nice. You need to book, particularly in the evening because it is always very popular.
