“A Beautiful Victorian Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

This hotel is located conveniently in the center so that you can step out the door and see all the great squares and wonderful museums with just a short walk. The spa is wonderful and after a hard day working it is just what is needed. The lobby and breakfast room are so lovely that you want to just stay for a while and enjoy. The breakfasts were good, the staff terrific.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the courtyard and was quiet.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

My family of four and two dogs stayed in adjoining rooms for two nights in this centrally located hotel. Perfect location - walking distance to many of the central sights and shopping. Our rooms were on the corner of the second floor but street noise was not a problem. Comfortable beds and pillows. Nothing particularly unique about towels or amenities. The decor is a bit too "English countryside" for my taste (and considering that we're in Italy, not England) with a lot of baroque floral, wicker, horse and golf themes. (With some random Buddhas and oriental art thrown in here and there.) But it does not (yet) seem tattered as many Italian hotels do, no matter what the theme..... So acceptable.

The spa -- semi-underground swimming pool, steam rooms, etc -- was an added plus after a long day of sight-seeing. Kids allowed in during specific hours. Price was a little steep but included a good breakfast and wifi and no extra charge for the dogs, who had a bed, water bowls and toys waiting for them upon check in. Very pleasant and accommodating staff.

Be aware of the tricky, narrow and small underground parking lot if you have a large car or SUV. Parking was extra but I was not allowed to park in front of the hotel, even though I noticed other cars parked there for the duration of our stay.

Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Outstanding experience. On business for 2 days, put up by host, got triple as family accompanied. Hotel itself is excellent- see photo. Location is excellent- 10 mins walk to most important parts (center) of the city. Everything of interest near by. Excellent rooms, outstanding staff (at all levels), parking, breakfast.

I spent a beautiful week in this charming Hotel. Everything was lovely and the Hotel is placed in a very central area. They upgraded my room before I asked them. The fitness center is nice and the breakfast top.

Personnel is extremely nice and careful about guests' needs. The building is not particularly new but adequately mantained.
I've visited different hotels in the city and would definitely reccomend this one as high quality stay at affordable prices.

No detail is left to coincidence here. The decoration of the lobby area, the restaurant and the areas around the central yeard is fantastic. The rooms are more than ok too, but it is the common areas that stand out. I didn't use the pool in the basement, but it too looks like something out of roman history. Add to this that the breakfast is probably the best I have seen (you can't possibly try it all), and you have a genuine pearl of a hotel right at the best location in a city that only suffers from being close to even more famous siblings in northern Italy.

This is a lovely older hotel.
From what I could see, each room is going to be different, but all well appointed.
I've gotten used to being able to iron shirts when I arrive for each stay. Although it was late on a Sunday night, they were gracious setting me up with a board in the laundry room to get this done. Much nicer than having to turn them all in for the house staff to do.
The desk staff were very helpful with recommendations for food near by.
The hotel is a very easy walk to almost all of the central city attractions, restaurants and shopping.
A very nice, not chain, choice.
