Unquestionably the No.1 Best Western Hotel I've stayed in to date, the Genova sits directly opposite Turin's (current) main rail terminus of Porto Nuova and is in a super area of the City. If you're coming from the Airport, the hotel is on Via Sacchi about 100 yards from the stop. Could it be more perfectly located? No, I think not!
The Hotel occupies a 19th Century building but was recently completely renovated and it is beautiful. Check-in was quick and simple, the staff seemed helpful and spoke good English. Our room was on the top floor (5) and our initial thoughts were that it was a bit small, but the sloping roof made it appear larger. Decor is new and vibrant with good choice of colours and furnishings. Room features mini bar, en-suite with toiletries, remote TV, slippers, king size bed and air conditioning.
Breakfast is served in the lower level and although the choice was limited, I have to admit this is usual Best Western standards and I did manage to fill up just fine on toast, cereals, fresh fruit, croissant and coffee.
One flaw was the air con only operates from late afternoon until just after midnight. This did cause a bit of a restless first night as it was hot outside and we didn't want to let all the flies/mozzies in who were hovering outside the light next to the window!!
Thoroughly recommended Hotel & City. Top marks.
