“Very memorable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2011

They really do deserve to be No. 1 in Torino.
The service was incredibly warm, attentive and personalized, and the atmosphere was cozy and authentically Italian.
The food was amazing, and the quantities were generous.
Really an unforgettable experience.

“Out-of-body seafood experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

Accidentaly we found this restaurant, and to our big surprise, it turned out to be one of our top three gourmet excperiences ever.
From the moment we entered the fish ristorante we sensed the smell of good food and a warm welcome. The entry room was filled with wine bottles from big producers like Gaja and Giacosa. A fantastic atmosphere and expectations of gourmet food gave a warm feeling inside. We were not disappointed!
We ordered the taste menu (50 euro). This was a good choice. Fantastic food.
Antipasto: Shrimps with beans (Gambieri) and Octopus (Calamari) with Tuna and a fantastic olive oil. White whine from Roero (Arneis) with long aftertaste accompanied the food with elegance.
Primo piatti consisted of paccieri with a fantastic fishsauce. I almost licked the plate. Did'nt want to let anything of the sauce go to waste.
Secondi arrived and luckily it was a monkfish with speck from Trentino. As Nowegians we were amaced by the quality of the fish. And the sauce...hmmm!...
Dolce: Icecream and chocolate with zabaglione cream, amaretti and blueberry.
The most amazing part: Dessertwine was 12 years old (1999 from Veneto)!
We almost had an out-of-body experience. We still linger the taste in our mouth.
The atmosphere was pure quality. Service ws attentive and they were genuinely interested in giving us the best possible experience with the food.
The afternoon ended with Cafe espresso and Grappa Nebbiolo that rounded of the night with elegance.
The room was decorated in a simple manner and the light could have been toned down a bit, but this is small details. It did not bother us.
This has been one of our top three nights ever, and this happened by pure luck! Incredible! Were are coming back for tartufo season with a good Barolo!
Thanks! Mila gracie!

“Lovely wine list”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2011

We ate here Saturday night and had a lovely fish dinner...pasta with astice (lobster) and a second course of white fish cooked in a barolo (red wine). The service is excellent and the sommelier recommends the appropriate wine for your menu and preferences. They also serve many wines by the glass which is nice too.

“Best fih and seafood in Torino”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2009

I found very strange nobody wrote a review of La Porta Rossa restaurant. I'm italian and I've been there several times: if you like fish or seafood this is the place to come in Turin! Just read the menu and choose even with eyes closed, you can't be wrong, trust me. And what about wines? Hundreds of them, from dozen of Piedmont ones to all the italian bests travelling amongst Europeans grapes ... be sure you don't have to drive after lunch or dinner! If you're greedy try the desserts, they're all hand made, naturally the best way to eat them is drinking a glass of good passito. In autumn I purposely come here to eat delicious Piedmont's truffles and wild musrooms. The owner is very friendly and he'll guide you into the delicious tastes of this fine restaurant. Of course it's not a cheap place, probably you'll pay around € 50 without wines but they really deserve a visit.
