“The best view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

My partner and I stayed at Villa Pattono for 5 nights. We were given the Tower suite which was a huge surprise as I had enquired about it by email, but it had been booked, then cancelled by someone else, to our good fortune. The hotel is fantastic, everything has been thought out in great detail and executed perfectly. The breakfast is delicious and there is a vast choice.

This is a well run, first class establishment and it won't break the bank! Be sure to try the wine from the vineyard, we had ours by the poolside and made for a lovely afternoon treat.

The surrounding area is very beautiful and there are some very good places to eat close by, but you do need a car. Be sure to try Caffe Roma in Costigliole D'Asti, the food is very good and the owners are truly lovely.

We had an amazing two nights in this property even wanted to extend but was booked for a wedding , luca and his wife were like a family to us highly recommended .

One suggestion to find a list of farms and restaurants near the location for typical cuisine

This is a new boutique hotel beautifully situated in the Langhe wine country near the tiny town of Costigliole d'Asti. It is not easy to find, use your GPS or Google maps. The structure is an ancient and distinguished family residence that has been completely renovated but keeps some of the valuable architectural features of its long history. The hotel has 13 rooms, all spacious and well appointed with large bathrooms and closets. The Wifi is free and well functioning. There are two expansive lounges, a swimming pool, a large inside hot tub and a sauna. The hotel also has a tasting room where it serves the wines of Renato Ratti of La Morra, one of the most famous wineries of the Barolo denomination and the owner of the hotel. The only meal served on site is breakfast, so transportation is a must for lunch and for dinner and for exploring the many pleasures of Piemonte. (The closest restaurant is a good 2 mile walk through the vinyards.) We spent a lovely and relaxing few days at Villa Pattono. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful with advice and local arrangements. Two suggestions for improvement: place facial tissues in the rooms and amend the breakfast offerings with more variety and quality in plain fresh breads and fewer cookies and cakes held over from days before. Eggs would also be welcome. And since there are no meals during the day, how about setting up a plate with a few pastries or little bites, some bottled water, and perhaps a Nespresso machine for self service in the afternoon?

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a bathtub, so if this is important, you should specify.

Villa Pattono in itself is a feast for the senses, has a splendid location, is kept impeccably well, breakfast and facilities are super and above all, staff are friendly, efficient, genuine and extremely helpful.
The breakfast fresh fruit and croissants were lovely. The common areas are very classy.
I liked the design of the modern spa facilities.
Thanks- you are splendid!
